We’re hiring!

Rainfords Arboriculture is looking for arboricultural consultants and tree survey technicians to join our team.

The work is a mix of large-scale tree inventory surveys (TreePlotter) and tree risk assessment. Home based, covering sites from Cheshire up to Cumbria, and beyond should you wish to travel further afield.

What we’re offering:
£33k to £40k depending on experience
10% employer pension contribution
25 days leave + bank holidays

All survey kit and work phone provided
Mileage paid at HMRC rates
QTRA, PTI and TreePlotter training where needed

We’re looking for people with a Level 4 arb qualification who take pride in their work and can get on with the job. Happy to hear from experienced consultants looking for variety, and from those earlier in their career who want to develop.

Arboricultural Surveyor / Consultant – North West

I’m looking for an arboricultural surveyor/consultant to join our small but well-equipped team, based in the North West (Merseyside and surrounding counties), with occasional work further afield when it suits.

We mainly deliver tree risk management for a range of organisations – very little BS5837.

What’s on offer:

About you:
• Minimum Level 4 arboriculture (or equivalent) plus some experience
• Confident with day-to-day tree surveys across varied sites

You’ll be supporting ongoing larger projects with solid, reliable survey work – and I’ll make sure you’ve got the tools and support you need to succeed.

Friday Fungi. Plenty going on with this Beech! Cavity, Meripilus and Ganoderma. Had the Arborsonic across it in four layers to get a good buildup of data for further assessment and safety factor calculations. The tomography isn’t the be all and end all of tree assessment, the internal inspection it allows us to do gathers some vital evidence for a management decision which suits. Quite often the trees are managing quite well despite some extra spicy features.

We have carried out plenty of internal tree assessments before, with the purchase of our own Sonic Tomography equipment we can now carry out assessments in house, to give more evidence towards making sound tree management decisions. I am looking to add an experienced arboricultural professional to my team - someone who is motivated, technically proficient, and prepared to contribute to the growth of this small business.

I have a busy calendar currently with work continuing to grow. I am looking for someone who enjoys a varied and busy workload.

I thoroughly enjoy what I do and want to share it with someone like minded who can take some of my workload.

Currently, I am looking at options for a Consultant role with a minimum 3 years experience as a consultant, or a senior with a minimum of 5 years experience in the role.

The core focus lies in tree risk assessment, with a minor portion dedicated to BS5837 planning, work is varied in size and diverse to keep you interested.

This includes large estate surveys, small property tree risk assessments, tree damage assessments, social housing, decay assessment with in house tomography kit and plenty others.

The ideal candidate should possess:
- Minimum 3 years of arboricultural consultancy experience (5+ for senior role)
- Proficiency in tree risk assessment, reporting, and client interaction
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Appropriate certifications and a valid UK driving license
- Competence in CAD and GIS, integral to our operational efficiency
- Preferably located in the North West for in-person meetings
