Evening all, been a while!

Just a small post, realised I haven’t posted anything since 2022 🫠

We’ve been very busy, I’ve even expanded, now wearing 40” waist shorts 😑

I must admit social media is not my calling, but I will try to do better as I know you all want to see some lovely roofs! 🤩

Maybe I’ll get one of these young whippersnappers on the socials….🤓

Peard Roofing is looking for a new young labourer to join the busy team. Experience is not essential, but it would be a bonus. Same as own transport but not an issue if the candidate lives around Midsomer Norton.

Job role will be general labouring, assisting and learning the skills of the trade.

Applicants must be polite, well presented and have good time keeping. Must be self-employed.

Hello all!

Hope you are keeping well?

Tackled this roof down Wells this week in the nice cooler temperatures. It was nice to be able to see what I’m doing without sweat and sun cream burning my eyes! 🥴

This roof was original with the house. Some 130+ years old, and apart from looking a tad worse for wear, it didn’t really leak 👍

Roof stripped back to rafters, dealing with dusty old lath and plaster 😷 the frost damage tiles recycled into rubble and nice reclaimed clay doubles installed. Fresh Roofshield felt and graded battens fitted, nice new lead and
ridge tiles bedding back on.

Then we gave the front lower roof some TLC!
Completely renewed the felt, batten, slates and lead.

Enjoyed this messy job, hope it lasts half as long as the original roof! 😅😳

Plain tiler with bands of spades, in Somerset, Wells.

Some 28000 plus tiles 🥴

Roof stripped, breathable membrane and nearly 3 MILES of batten installed 🤯

Chimneys completely repointed and I also decided to fix ply to the chimneys shoulders to accommodate lead.

Cement verges, bedded ridge and some lower roofs re-done and lead work.

8 weeks of sweaty graft from the chaps and they done a cracking job.

Bring on the autumn! 🥵

Hello all on this hot evening 🥵🥵

I hope you’ve all been keeping well and hydrated recently!

We’ve been quite busy over the last few months, and again I’m rubbish at keeping the page up to date 😅

Here’s 3 roofs for you to look at while you sip iced drinks in front of several fans!

1st is a concrete cast flat roof in Peasedown. Roof stripped and decking installed to blind over the dipped concrete.
Two layer system accompanied with new fascia, guttering, lead flashing and the flaky ceilings boarded with ply. 😎👍

2nd is a single pitched roof in Bath, which has had it’s felt and battens renewed for a breathable membrane and graded battens.
A new welded lead back gutter, lead soakers and flashings, new fascia and guttering and dry ridge and verge systems 😎👍

And 3rd and final is a hip end roof in Bath. Again the roof had a renewal of felt and battens, new tiles on the front and rear,original tiles remained on the hip end as an extension will take place in the future.
New lead chimney, pointing and a couple coats of Enviroseal.

Rather large carport/workshop had a new flat roof installed. The neighbours (whose roof we did next door) installed all new timbers on the existing steel frame and we took over from there. New 18mm OSB and a two layer torch on system in slate grey, plus a new 900x1200 flat roof opening window. Lovey job 😎👍

Here’s a flat roof in Pensford.

New 3 layer torch on system in dark grey slate. Garage and porch decking reused, kitchen has 125mm Celotex installed and new 18mm OSB. New Mahogany fascia
cap-it for the kitchen to match the garage.

Good afternoon!

Just a quick few posts of recent jobs we have completed, with this year going off with a flying start!

This roof was the first of the year, for the lovely Christine in Clutton. She had, new roof shield felt, graded battens, new concrete Groveburys on the rear to match the neighbours and reclaimed clay double romans on the front to keep the original cottage look. New lead here and there, and hey presto! A new roof!

I absolutely love jobs like this! Gets the brain ticking!

This was a derelict cottage in Wingfield, passed down to a lovely couple and it was our job to bring it back to life…..well the roof anyway.

Over grown with ivy, knackered roof and rotten timbers is enough to make anyone walk away, but the finished piece at the end was worth the graft. Reclaimed welsh slate on the front and new Spanish on the other 3 slopes, renewal of internal gutter and rafter legs, New lead, bonding gutter between this cottage and the neighbours and new ridge.

Oh and we vaulted their ceilings to create space.
