Proud to have completed the structural steel frame for the existing lift shaft at the University of East Anglia (UEA) in Norwich.
Our team fabricated the red-primed steel frame in our Rackheath workshop to BS EN 1090 EXC2 standards, complete with UKCA marking and Declaration of Conformity, before carrying out the precision site installation. The frame was carefully positioned and bolted to the existing concrete structure, providing a robust and accurate interface for the lift works.
This type of work is exactly what we do best — structural steel from design through to installation, delivered with full traceability and quality control by our in-house Responsible Welding Coordinator.
Great project on a well-known Norfolk campus. Thanks to everyone involved on site for the smooth coordination.

Garden room going up on a light-gauge galvanised steel frame — accurate, stable, and fabricated here in Rackheath.

We can also install ground screws or screwpiles under the same job, so base and frame come from one team. Structural work is carried out under BS EN 1090 where it applies.

Another one in the books in Norwich.

This week we installed the structural steel for a house extension — ridge beams and wind posts set inside the existing roof, with the original rafters and tiles still in place around the work. Tight access, limited headroom, and a lot of coordination between the loft and the scaffold, but the job was complete in two days.

A big thank you to Compact Crane Services, local to us in Rackheath. Their team were fantastic — precise lifts, patient operators, and genuinely helpful when the positions got awkward. Made a tough install a lot smoother.

A massive shout out to our fantastic team for completing this on time in a safe manner.
