Another transformation complete 🙌

We removed the old, tired concrete patio and completely reworked the space from the ground up. After digging out and preparing a fresh base, we installed a brand new Indian stone patio and pathway — giving the garden a clean, modern finish that’s built to last.

The natural tones of the stone really brighten the area and create a much more usable outdoor space ☀️

BEFORE this was just a garage… now it’s a bright new playroom for the family. 🔨

By installing a large structural steel beam, we were able to open up the space and connect the former garage directly to the kitchen and dining area — creating a much more practical layout for everyday family life.

The new room now includes:
✅ Two floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the back garden
✅ Full insulation to current standards
✅ Fully plastered walls and ceilings
✅ Matching skirting boards for a seamless finish with the rest of the house

What used to be unused space is now a warm, light-filled playroom the kids can enjoy while still being close to the main living area.

🔨 Another Insurance Repair Completed by P & J Riley Building Services 🔨

We were recently called out to an insurance job where a stone wall had cracked, causing damage both externally and to the internal plasterwork.

Our team carried out a full structural repair, which included:
✅ Propping the roof securely to ensure safety and stability
✅ Carefully taking down the damaged stonework from inside and out
✅ Rebuilding the wall using reclaimed stone to perfectly match the existing property
✅ Repointing to blend seamlessly with the rest of the building
✅ Installing new plasterboard and fresh plaster internally for a clean finish

We’re proud to restore this property back to its original character while ensuring it’s safe, solid, and built to last.

Earlier this year we finished this stunning single story stone guest house in Corbridge 🤩

For this customer we:

•Built the outer leaf out of reclaimed stone 🪨 (to match area)
•Built a large chimney from footings to the pot 🔥
•Laid patio walkway around guest house 🏡
•Built stone wall to create a more secure area around back of guest house and storage area 😅

We were able to add amazing features in this build. Such as a reclaimed, bricked up; stained arch glass window. Also stone features, such as the “green man” 😆 🧱
