The darker nights are definitely starting to creep back in… 🍂

Now is a good time to get those little electrical jobs sorted before winter properly arrives.

Outside lights that haven’t worked since last winter, poor lighting around the driveway or garden, bathroom fans that aren’t clearing the steam, sockets you’ve been meaning to have changed — all the things that suddenly become a lot more noticeable when the nights draw in.

⚡ Keeping it local with another LEMAC install

We’ve installed a fair few LEMAC chargers now and they have quickly become our go-to choice for home EV charging.

One of the things we really like about them is that they’re designed and manufactured right here in East Lothian. We’re a local business ourselves, so when we can install a quality product that’s made on our doorstep, it’s an easy one for us to get behind.

They look pretty smart on the wall too 👌

Happy Monday everyone!

We’ve definitely been a bit quiet on here recently, mainly because we’ve been absolutely flat out with work!

Plenty going on across East Lothian and further afield at the moment, with some really good projects underway and lots more coming up.

We’ll try and get back to sharing a bit more of what we’ve been up to when we get a chance.

Another little milestone for R. Lumsden Electrical ⚡️🚐

Our second van officially hits the road for its first day at work today — a great moment for us and another sign of how far the business has come.

We’ve been steadily building the workload, the team and the business over the past year, and seeing another van out on the road feels like a pretty big step forward.

Plenty more to come! ⚡️

Back at it tomorrow people after a couple of weeks off, had a great holiday but its time to get the tools back into action. Thanks to Suzi Boyle-Travel Counsellors for hooking us up with our trip and meeting up our long distance friends

It’s been a really positive week for R.Lumsden Electrical Ltd.

This week we’ve started the first fix on an exciting renovation project in the Scottish Borders for a new client. An old primary school is being transformed into four large 4 and 5-bedroom family homes, complete with modern electrical installations, downlights throughout and air source heat pump systems.

Projects like this are a real milestone for our business and highlight the progress we’ve made over the last year. We’re incredibly proud to be trusted with developments of this scale, and we’re committed to delivering the highest possible standards of workmanship from first fix right through to final handover.

A big thank you to Rexel Edinburgh for keeping us supplied with quality materials and helping us keep the project moving efficiently.

We’re looking forward to sharing more updates as this fantastic transformation takes shape.

Thinking about installing an EV charger? Here’s what you can expect when we carry out a survey.

Every installation starts with a site visit to make sure everything is safe, compliant and tailored to your home and your vehicle.

First, we’ll arrange a convenient time to visit and have a chat about what you’re looking for.

We’ll discuss where you’d like the charger installed and advise on the most practical, cost-effective and tidy location.

We’ll then go through the different charger brands available and explain which options work best with your vehicle and electricity tariff, helping you get the most out of smart charging and off-peak rates.

As part of the survey, we’ll inspect and photograph your incoming main fuse and supply equipment so we can complete the necessary Scottish Power application as
required.

We’ll also inspect your consumer unit to check whether it’s suitable for an EV charger or if any additions or alterations are needed to comply with the latest wiring regulations.

Once we’ve completed the survey, we’ll provide a clear, detailed quotation so you know exactly what’s involved before any work begins.
