One material, the whole recess.

Taj Mahal quartzite running from the outer frame right through to the worktop, with the basin formed in the same stone. Warm beige with soft grey drifting through it, which is why it sits happily against almost any cabinetry.

The splashback is doing more work than the worktop here.

Four Seasons marble taken right up to the top of the recess, so the pattern carries the whole wall instead of stopping a few inches above the worktop. Charcoal and deep green shot through with white, with gold running across it.
