🔩 Trenchless Drain Repair – No Dig, No Problem! 💧

Another drainage issue resolved for a customer!

We were called out to investigate recurring blockages that were causing ongoing problems for the customer. After inspecting the drainage system, we identified a displaced joint within the pipework, which was disrupting the flow and creating a point where waste could catch and build up, leading to repeated blockages.

Our solution? Trenchless sleeve installation!

Rather than excavating and replacing the affected section of pipe, we installed a trenchless repair sleeve to seal and repair the damaged joint from within the existing pipework.

✔️ Repaired the displaced joint without the need for extensive excavation.
✔️ Helped restore a smoother, more reliable flow through the drain.
✔️ Reduced disruption to the customer's property.
✔️ Provided a targeted, long-lasting repair to tackle the underlying issue.

Another drainage job completed in Fulwood! 👷‍♂️

We were initially called out to investigate a blockage, which we found was occurring within the manhole itself. On inspection, the existing concrete benching had become heavily eroded, leaving pieces of broken concrete inside the manhole. These rough, deteriorated surfaces were catching toilet tissue and causing it to snag, contributing to repeated blockages. 🚽

🔧 Our solution?

Rather than simply clearing the blockage and leaving the underlying issue unresolved, we carried out rebenching works to address the root cause.

✅ Removed the deteriorated concrete.
✅ Reinstated the manhole benching to create a smooth, properly channelled finish.
✅ Helped eliminate the surfaces where tissue was catching and building up.
✅ Restored the manhole to a better working condition and reduced the risk of future blockages.

By identifying the cause of the problem and carrying out the necessary repairs, we were able to provide a longer-term solution rather than just a temporary fix. 💪

🔍 CCTV DRAINAGE SURVEY – WHEN THE WATER HAS NOWHERE TO GO! 😂💦

We were recently called out to a property where the customer was selling their home and wanted a CCTV drainage survey carried out.

Before we even put the camera down, we spotted something that needed investigating… 👀

The surface water inspection chamber had been incorrectly installed, with the downstream outlet capped off.

So, instead of the rainwater flowing away downstream as it should, the only route available was back upstream! ⬆️💦

Not quite how we like to see a drainage system working! 😂

We explained the issue to the customer and continued with the CCTV drainage survey, inspecting the system and documenting what we found.

We’ve now provided a quotation to correct the installation and reinstate the proper flow direction.

✅ Customer given professional advice

💦 ANOTHER CATCHPIT CLEANED OUT! 🛠️

We were recently called out to a catchpit that had become completely full of silt, sludge and debris, leaving very little room for the drainage system to do its job.

A full catchpit can quickly become a problem. When the pit fills up, debris and sediment can begin making their way into the connecting pipework, restricting flow and potentially causing blockages, backing-up and unwanted drainage issues.

This one definitely needed some attention! 😅

We got to work using a wet vac to empty and thoroughly clean out the catchpit, removing the accumulated material and ensuring the surrounding pipework was clear and able to flow freely.

💪 The result? A clean catchpit and unrestricted drainage flow.

We also advised the customer that this catchpit should ideally be emptied and maintained every 3–6 months, depending on how quickly it fills.

Regular maintenance can help:

✅ Prevent blockages
✅ Keep pipework flowing freely
✅ Reduce the risk of overflowing
✅ Prevent silt and debris entering the drainage system
✅ Avoid unexpected and potentially costly drainage problems

A little preventative maintenance can go a long way when it comes to drainage! 👷‍♂️💦

Don’t wait until your catchpit is overflowing to give it some attention. Keeping it regularly emptied is far easier than dealing with a blocked drainage system later on!

🚨 THIS DRAIN HAD DEFINITELY SEEN BETTER DAYS! 💩💦

We were called out to another blocked drain that had been causing problems for quite some time.

The drain was extremely full and had been repeatedly struggling to cope, resulting in slow drainage, backing-up and some seriously unpleasant smells! 🤢

Let’s just say… it wasn't exactly the kind of smell you want greeting you when you walk through the door! 😂

After investigating the issue, we got to work clearing the blockage and removing the build-up that had accumulated within the drainage system.

💦 Once the blockage was cleared, the water was flowing freely again and the unpleasant smells were finally shown the door!

✅ Blockage cleared
✅ Excess build-up removed
✅ Drainage flow restored
✅ Problem investigated
✅ Smelly situation sorted!

Recurring blockages and bad smells shouldn't be ignored. They can be signs that there's more going on inside the pipework than just a one-off blockage.

If your drain is constantly slow, backing up, gurgling or smelling worse than it should, it’s usually better to investigate the problem before it turns into a much bigger headache.

🚨 BLOCKED DRAIN? TIME TO FIND OUT WHAT’S REALLY GOING ON! 💦🔎

We were recently called out to a blocked drain that was causing ongoing issues.

Rather than simply clearing the blockage and hoping for the best, we carried out a proper investigation to find out what was actually causing the problem.

📹 CCTV inspection carried out
💦 High Pressure Water Jetting (HPWJ) from the rodding eye
🔎 Blockage located and investigated

During the CCTV survey, we discovered a significant amount of silt and debris entering the drainage system from the washing machine connection.

It seems the washing machine had been sending more than just dirty laundry down the line! 🧺😂

Over time, the build-up had accumulated within the pipework, restricting the flow and eventually contributing to the blockage.

We used high pressure water jetting to thoroughly clean the affected section of pipework and restore the drainage flow.

✅ Blockage cleared
✅ Silt and debris removed
✅ Pipework cleaned
✅ CCTV inspection completed
✅ Cause of the issue identified
💧 Drain flowing freely again

This is a great example of why CCTV drainage surveys are so useful. Clearing a blockage is one thing — understanding why it happened in the first place can help prevent the same problem from coming back.

🔧 NEW INSPECTION CHAMBER INSTALLED FOR A CUSTOMER! 🚧

We recently attended a customer’s property to carry out a CCTV drainage survey. During the inspection, we noticed something important — the property didn’t have an inspection chamber or any suitable external access to the drainage system.

To complete the CCTV survey, we drilled through the soil stack to gain access to the pipework and were able to inspect the drainage system.

Once we’d completed the survey, we recommended installing a new inspection chamber — and that’s exactly what we did. ✅

💡 Why is an inspection chamber so useful?

Having a proper inspection chamber gives you a dedicated access point to your drainage system. If you ever experience a blockage or drainage issue in the future, it means we can:

🔹 Access the drain much more easily
🔹 Locate and diagnose problems more efficiently
🔹 Rod and clear blockages from a suitable access point
🔹 Inspect the condition of your drainage system when required

🚨 BLOCKED GULLY CLEARED – FOUL WASTE & TISSUES CAUSING AN OVERFLOW! 🚨

Another nasty blockage successfully cleared for a customer! 💦🔧

We attended a property where the gully was completely blocked and overflowing with foul waste and tissues, causing wastewater to back up and spill over around the gully.

After clearing the blockage, we were able to get everything flowing freely again and leave the drainage system operating as it should. ✅

⚠️ Still got old clay gullies? It could be worth considering an upgrade.

Older clay gullies are typically fitted with a trapped design, which means that when there is an issue beyond the trap, it can prevent us from getting our CCTV camera through to properly inspect the pipework.

This is where a modern rodable gully can make a big difference.

By replacing an old clay gully with a rodable gully, you give yourself much better access to the drainage system. If a blockage occurs further down the line, we have an additional access point to work from — making it easier to rod, clear and investigate the drain when needed.

It might seem like a small upgrade, but having that extra access can make a huge difference when dealing with future blockages or drainage problems.

Minimum requirements:

✔️ 3+ years’ drainage experience
✔️ High Pressure Water Jetting

✔️ Drain Cleaning & Maintenance
✔️ Minor Drainage Repairs
