🚩 BATHROOM RED FLAGS TO WATCH OUT FOR 🚩
Planning a new bathroom? Here are a few things we’d always consider a red flag when choosing a bathroom company or installer…
🚩 “We can just panel straight over those tiles.”
It might seem like an easy way to save time and money, but tiling over existing tiles or installing panels over an unsuitable surface can hide problems underneath and leave you with issues further down the line.
🚩 Plastic pipework used where copper would be more appropriate.
Plastic pipe has its place, but using it simply because it’s cheaper isn’t always the best option. We prefer to use the right materials for the job rather than cutting corners to reduce costs.
🚩 Pipes boxed in when they could be chased into the wall.
Boxing everything in can make a bathroom feel smaller and can sometimes be an easy way around proper preparation. Where possible and appropriate, we prefer to chase pipework into the walls for a cleaner, more finished look.
🚩 A quote that seems too good to be true.
If one company is dramatically cheaper than everyone else, it’s worth asking why. Check exactly what is included preparation, plumbing, electrics, flooring, plastering, waste removal and finishing can all make a huge difference to the final cost.
🚩 Being pressured into making decisions immediately.
You’re spending a lot of money on your bathroom. You should have time to consider your choices, ask questions and make sure you’re happy before committing.
