Finally made it to the weekend! Busy busy week that has seen us completing various electrical works including two consumer unit upgrades, several small jobs such as light fitting changes and socket additions, 31 spotlights replaced from halogen to LED, an EICR, a couple of last minute emergency call outs and day 1 of a rewire today (always the worst day). Yes, we did advise that the RCD main switch with the overheating neutral be replaced with a consumer unit upgrade, at least it’s tight enough now!

Made up with this EV charger from Sync EV

Without a doubt the smartest looking charger we have installed, even better this install was eligible for a government grant and the cost was almost all covered under the OZEV scheme.

Youngest apprentice back in action, sadly he is back in school this week. Having a workbench on the job is an absolute game changer for my old back! 😎🪛

Sunday morning call out to tripping kitchen socket circuit.

Testing revealed dead short L-E.

Splitting the ring narrowed the search down to a small area of the kitchen, and a waterlogged socket below the sink was discovered to be the issue - plumber needed.

New socket supplied and fitted, total time on site 1 hour 😎🪛

Recently installed fusebox replaced due to multiple defects observed during a call out.

Bit of a close call where the previous installer has forced tails that weren’t long enough into the main switch. Luckily no harm done.

New meter tails installed, secured in tails clamp and correctly glanded into the enclosure 😎🪛

Must be a week of “firsts”….

Fitted this bathroom light (yes, bread and butter stuff). Had made some dust so got the hoover out the van and tidied up.

The builder working on the house came in and said “in 40 years I’ve never seen an electrician tidy up after themselves. Have you got a card?” 😅🤷🏻‍♂️
