A thoughtful transformation of an existing family home, centred around a contemporary single-storey extension that redefines the way the house connects with its garden.
Our brief was to create a calm, light-filled open-plan kitchen, dining and living space that would seamlessly link the original house with the landscape beyond. The extension embraces natural daylight through generous rooflights and large sliding glazed doors, creating an interior that changes beautifully throughout the day.
Rather than competing with the existing house, the new architecture sits quietly alongside it. Clean modern lines, carefully considered proportions and a restrained material palette allow the transition from old to new to feel effortless, while improving the everyday experience of living in the home.
The result is a bright, contemporary family space with an intuitive flow, stronger connection to the garden, and a sense of calm that extends throughout the house.
