Great Team effort by all. Please see this UK Partners Against Crime post. What is not mentioned is the losses created by this group over this time period would have estimated to have been around £500k Merry Christmas.

Operation Gift Wrap launched on 28/10/24 with the aim of convicting or displacing as many repeat offenders as possible, in time for Christmas. We encouraged our members to report, report, report, and said UKPAC and our partners will do the rest. In that time, TOGETHER we have placed a whopping 30 repeat offenders behind bars!!! What an incredible result!

And that’s just those in prison. We’ve not even mentioned the other results we’ve achieved. The CBO’s and the suspended sentences etc. We truly are . A huge well done to everyone involved, especially those who submitted reports. Thank you to our Crime Hub, to the security staff, BIDs, BCRPs, police, PCC’s, council staff… the list goes on. The scale of this result and collaboration just shows what is possible. Together we make a difference, and create safer and more prosperous communities. Santa’s Crime Hub elves have been working extra hard to wrap up their most prolific cases and deliver the offenders to prison in time for Christmas. 🎁 This week, 5 more offenders won’t be able to harass and abuse honest workers and business owners this holiday season. Of course, it’s not just our elves we need to thank for their efforts, but the security staff, BIDs, BCRPs, police and of course our members for reporting the crimes in the first place. Well done to all involved! 👏 Keep on reporting and let’s see if we can add some more to prison Christmas party by this time next week.

Our Crime Prevention Design Advisor, Claire attended The Foundry at the Dolphin Shopping Centre, with UKPAC (UK Partners Against Crime) this morning to chat with members of the public about SentrySIS and how UKPAC can support the use of this reporting system to assist businesses and Police in prosecuting persistent offenders of shoplifting and anti-social behaviour, whilst building a community feel in our town centre and surrounding areas. Thanks to Barclays Eagle labs – South for organising, to Poole BID for inviting Claire along and to The Foundry for hosting the event.

The BCRP has been formed by three of the area’s Business Improvement Districts (Poole BID, Bournemouth Town Centre BID & Bournemouth Coastal BID) with the support of UK-PAC, Dorset Police, Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner and BCP Council. It promises to be a game-changer in tackling rising levels of theft, verbal and physical abuse and anti-social behaviour – all key issues impacting local businesses which are going significantly under-reported due to frustration with a perceived lack of response.

Another win in as a prolific offender is jailed for shoplifting offences against UKPAC member stores in & . This offender’s average theft value is less than £26 a time. Reported individually, these crimes will likely have gone unnoticed. But thanks to UKPAC’s valuable data, persistence and partnerships, the compiled crimes have demonstrated the offender’s prolific nature and secured effective sentencing. Well done to all involved.

Some great outcomes driven by great partnerships.

Often where there is one crime, there are others. By reporting each count of shoplifting, which may seem minor offences on their own, our members helped UKPAC build a profile of this prolific offender, who then went on to commit a much more violent crime. UKPAC were able to help put this criminal behind bars by providing Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary with valuable intel on the individual as well as all the evidence they needed for the 31 counts of shoplifting. MFG consultancy was tasked to provide a Body Worn Video provider to a major client. After research it was clear that the most competitive and compliant on the market was Halo BWV based in Belfast. Great product and fantastic support network which was one of the key factors in supplying product to any client. This equipment has already been successfully used in prosecutions against violent and prolific offenders and in conjunction with UKPAC services.

Poole NPT have seen a increase in reports of site machinery being stolen from Construction sites. There are several security measures that construction worker can put in place to try and prevent these occurring.

Some points to consider are:
• A good lighting scheme will deter intruders, make the area feel safer at night and assist with security patrols.
• Portable CCTV systems are also available and are easily moved as the site progresses.
• CCTV cameras should provide images of recognition quality and should be positioned in such a way that site lighting does not interfere with picture quality. Refer to the Home Office Operational Requirements Manual for CCTV at: https://orlo.uk/OCqVL
• Covert traceable liquids (taggants), that leave unique identifiers and fluoresce under ultraviolet light, can be linked to the alarm system by a sensor and will spray intruders with the substance that makes it easier for police to identify them
• Record all Vehicle identification Numbers (VIN) as well as chassis and engine numbers.

Over the last few months MFG have been rolling out Body Worn Cameras for Southern Co-op to protect colleagues against increasing violence towards retail staff. This is combined with SWL Security Services HUB Operators processing all violent crime and submitting directly to Police via the UK Partners Against Crime platform.
