As an Electrician I am naturally drawn to look at the electrics everywhere I go. Sometimes things make you take a second look, like this extension cable running across to a market stall on a extremely wet and rainy day. Trip hazards aside, I am certain turning things upside down does not improve the IP rating! πŸ˜…

We look after a lot of both domestic and commercial properties for our customers.

I like the maintenance side of things, it's always different. Ranging from fixing electrical issues at a national restaurant chain to emergency call outs after flooding in a assisted living property to replacing broken lights in an office.

Here a fan needed to be replaced after the developing a worrying noise when it was on. Luckily an exact swap was sourced which meant no decorating was required for the customer.

Another rewire recently completed for a regular customer. It's always nice to see the difference to a property after it's been renovated.

Landlords often get a bad reputation but this customer wanted to rip everything out and start again so his future tenants wouldn't have any issues.

If you'd like a few extra sockets installing or a quote for something bigger, feel free to message at any time.

A recent rewire we completed for a customer. Initially from an EICR before the property was purchased it was found the original electrical installation was in a very poor condition with numerous significant faults.

With this house being the customers forever home it was decided that it was best to start over and have everything done correctly.

Here we have the the TV wall 1st fixed and plastered, with trunking installed to allow cables to be freely fed from the wall mounted TV to a media cabinet below.

The rewire also included many additions including an EV charger supply, full home wired CCTV system, detached garage supply and relocating the consumer unit position to underneath the stairs to allow for the dream kitchen to be installed.

As always a very happy customer come the end of the project.

Send us a message if you'd like a new light fitting installing or are thinking about having a new kitchen, bathroom or garage conversion and you'd like to discuss how we can help you with the electrics.

It's been a very busy few months since the last post with rewiring houses, changing consumer units and testing commercial property, plus much more! Here's a recent job undertaken.

After taking the time to understand what the customer needed whilst they renovated their new home (extra sockets around the house, light fittings centralising in bedrooms and a full kitchen rewire) it was time to also change the consumer unit to offer the latest protection.

An unusual board to change (this is a type of Wylex Skeleton fuse board) probably from around the 1970s when the house was built and now finally replaced in 2025.

If you're consumer unit looks similar or you're still using rewireable fuses it maybe worth thinking about having the electrical installation tested and replaced. If you'd like a free, no obligation quote feel free to get in contact.

A recent consumer unit change, this property has never been tested since it was originally commissioned back in 2005.

Luckily the loose connection and burning cables have been found before it caused anything more serious.

Now the customer can rest easy knowing all circuits offer RCD protection.

Two jobs completed in Leeds today, both customers were very happy with the results.

The first job involved installing additional sockets in a kitchen, always slightly tricky working around worktops and units but who am I to tell the customer it can't be done? Sockets plastered in and ready for painting.

The second job involved installing additional sockets in an upstairs office. The customer recently stripped the wallpaper and removed the carpet (always makes the job easier) and said the room is getting plastered so I left it with just a bonding coat. Maybe I'm too young to remember when painting floorboards purple was fashionable πŸ˜….

Kitchens, one of the biggest and best ways to increase enjoyment and value in a home.

A regular customer wanted a full kitchen renovation including removing walls and opening up the kitchen and dining room into one large space.

This meant that many of the original kitchen circuits were now not in the correct place.
So what did we do?

- Wired a dedicated cooker and separate microwave circuit.
- Wired a new kitchen socket ring main to remove it from the house circuit.
- Wired and installed spotlights.
- Wired and installed a grid switch for the appliances.

Finally we tested everything and most importantly, issued electrical and building control certificates.
