YOU WOULDN’T BELIEVE WHAT THIS GARDEN LOOKED LIKE BEFORE! 🌿👀

And this is exactly why I love what we do!

Looking at this beautiful courtyard flower garden today, you’d never imagine the amount of work that went into creating it.

But swipe through these photos and you’ll see where it all began…

A digger, muddy ground, piles of stone and a garden that looked nothing like the finished space!

Before we could even think about the beautiful planting and finishing touches, we had to get everything right underneath.

The excavation, setting out, brickwork, preparing the ground and carefully installing those gorgeous Corten steel edges.

And what a transformation!

The crisp white gravel, beautiful flower beds, stunning central water feature and that lovely greenhouse sitting at the end of the garden.

Everything has its place.

But what I love most is how this garden makes you feel.

It’s peaceful, full of character and somewhere you can imagine enjoying a morning coffee, pottering amongst the flowers or simply switching off from the world.

And the best part?

This garden is only going to get more beautiful as the planting matures! 🌸

A huge amount of hard work from the lads, and something we’re incredibly proud of.

Now, here’s a question…

OUTDOOR KITCHEN OR HOT TUB? YOU CAN ONLY HAVE ONE! 👀🔥

Now this is going to divide a few opinions!

Imagine it’s a beautiful summer’s evening. The sun’s beginning to set, you’ve got friends and family coming over, a few drinks on the go and the smell of something delicious cooking away.

Nobody’s stuck inside preparing dinner while everyone else enjoys the garden.

You’re all outside, together.

And that’s exactly why I absolutely love outdoor kitchens.

But here’s the thing…

When we first start building features like this, they don’t always look particularly exciting!

A few blocks, some mortar, a barbecue and what looks like a building site.

Then we start introducing the finishing touches.

On this particular kitchen, we’ve been installing this gorgeous natural-looking stone cladding, carefully working our way around the units to give the whole kitchen a completely different appearance.

And what a difference it makes!

Suddenly, something that looked quite ordinary starts becoming a real feature of the garden.

But for me, it’s not just about how beautiful the finished kitchen looks.

It’s about what happens around it.

The spontaneous summer barbecues. The Sunday afternoons with the family. The evenings that were only supposed to last an hour but somehow turn into the whole night.

Those are the moments I think about when we’re designing outdoor spaces.

Because ultimately, we’re not just building kitchens, patios and gardens.

We’re creating places where memories are made.

Now, I know what some of you are thinking…

“An outdoor kitchen? In England? With our weather?!” 😂

And that’s a fair argument!

Especially when the alternative is slipping into a lovely warm hot tub after a long day.

So here’s the dilemma.

You’ve got the space in your garden, but you can only choose ONE.

🔥 A beautiful outdoor kitchen for entertaining friends and family.

💦 Or a hot tub for relaxing and unwinding.

No cheating. You can’t have both! 😂

WHY DON’T MORE GARDENS HAVE THIS?! 😍

It’s such a simple idea, but just look at the difference it makes!

One of the things I absolutely love about designing gardens is finding those little opportunities to turn something ordinary into something really quite special.

And this is a perfect example.

We had two beautiful areas of this garden. The lawn on one side and the patio on the other.

Now, we could have simply joined the two together and called it a day.

But where’s the fun in that?

Instead, we’ve created this gorgeous little feature using Indian sandstone setts, carefully laid to form a lovely transition between the two spaces.

And with beautiful planting either side, it becomes so much more than just somewhere to walk.

It becomes part of the experience of moving through the garden.

That’s something I think gets overlooked far too often.

A garden shouldn’t just be a collection of separate features. The way those features connect is just as important as the features themselves.

Think about it.

The way you step from your patio onto the lawn. The planting that catches your eye as you walk past. The different textures beneath your feet.

All these little moments contribute to how a garden makes you feel.

And that’s what we’re always thinking about when we design.

Not just how a garden looks in a photograph, but how it feels to actually live in it.

I love the warmth and natural character of these sandstone setts, especially against the fresh green lawn and the softer planting surrounding them.

It’s understated, timeless and doesn’t need to shout for attention.

Sometimes, the simplest ideas are the ones that bring everything together.

And I genuinely think more gardens could benefit from little features like this.

HOW MANY LADS DOES IT TAKE TO LAY A LAWN?! 😂🌱

Well, apparently quite a few of us!

There’s something about watching a team work together when everyone knows exactly what they’re doing.

One grabs the turf, passes it to the next, then the next, and before you know it, we’ve got a little production line going!

It might look like we’re just having a laugh, but there’s something incredibly satisfying about watching a garden come together like this.

And this is one of my favourite stages of any garden transformation.

You’ve spent weeks looking at bare soil, machinery, materials everywhere and a garden that, to the homeowner, probably looks a million miles away from what they imagined.

Then the turf arrives.

And suddenly, everything starts to change.

The hard landscaping begins to feel softer. The planting starts to make sense. All those separate areas we’ve been working on finally begin to feel like one beautiful garden.

It’s amazing what a bit of green can do to a space.

But what you don’t see in this little video is everything that’s happened before that first roll of turf goes down.

The preparation, the levels, the groundwork and all the attention that goes into creating a lawn that doesn’t just look lovely on day one, but has the best chance of thriving for years to come.

Because laying turf is the easy bit.

Getting everything underneath it right? That’s where the real work happens.

And as much as I love the finished gardens, I love these moments just as much.

The lads having a laugh, everyone mucking in, and another garden getting that little bit closer to becoming somewhere our clients can enjoy.

Good gardens don’t happen by accident. And they certainly don’t happen without a good team. 🌿

TWO CARS. BARELY. NOW THREE, WITH ROOM TO SPARE! 🚗

Sometimes, the biggest transformation isn’t just how something looks. It’s how it changes the way you live.

When we first visited this property, our clients had a problem.

Their driveway could just about accommodate two cars, and even then, it was a tight squeeze.

Not exactly ideal when you’ve also got a huge camper truck to think about!

The existing driveway was tired, dated and simply wasn’t making the most of the space available.

But we saw an opportunity to completely rethink the front of this property.

Rather than simply replacing the old surface with something new, we looked at how we could make the entire space work better for the homeowners.

And the difference?

They can now comfortably park their large camper truck AND two additional cars!

No more squeezing vehicles into tight spaces. No more compromising on where to park.

Just a beautifully considered driveway that works for their everyday life.

But there’s another side to this transformation.

First impressions matter.

Your driveway is often one of the first things people notice when they arrive at your home. It’s the beginning of the experience, long before anyone walks through the front door.

A thoughtfully designed driveway can completely change a property’s kerb appeal, complement its architecture and potentially increase its market value.

And when you combine that visual appeal with genuinely useful additional parking, you’re creating something that offers both practical and long-term benefits.

That’s what we love about projects like this.

It’s not just about laying new paving or making an old driveway look smart again.

It’s about seeing opportunities that weren’t being used, making better use of the space and creating something that feels right for the property.

More space. Better functionality. A completely different first impression.

And most importantly, a driveway that finally works for the people who live there.

Why does herringbone look so good?😍 Sometimes, it’s the smallest details that make the biggest difference in a garden.

And this little herringbone step is a perfect example.

Welcome back to our Courtyard Flower Garden, a project that’s all about bringing together traditional character, beautiful materials and an abundance of planting to create a space that feels like it’s always belonged.

There’s something quite special about this garden.

We’ve used natural gravel to create a softer, more relaxed feel, with Corten steel edging defining the planting beds and introducing those lovely warm, rusty tones that work so well alongside the brickwork.

Then there’s the planting. 🌿

Beautiful layers of greenery, flowers, different heights and textures, all carefully considered to bring this courtyard to life throughout the seasons.

But one of my favourite things about this project is how all these individual elements work together.

Take these steps, for example.

They’re not particularly big, and they’re certainly not complicated in appearance. But laying the bricks in a herringbone pattern gives them so much more character than a simple straight-laid finish.

It’s a small detail, but one that complements the traditional materials and the overall feeling we’re trying to achieve.

And we’re not finished yet!

One of the most exciting features still to come is the beautiful greenhouse, which will become a real focal point of this courtyard.

I can already picture it surrounded by the planting as everything matures, with the gravel pathways connecting the different areas and creating those lovely little moments as you wander through.

That’s what I love about garden design.

Sometimes it’s about creating somewhere that feels peaceful, timeless and full of character.

Somewhere you can sit with a morning coffee, enjoy the flowers, potter around the greenhouse and simply escape for a while.

And that’s exactly what we’re creating here.

THE CONCRETE WAS SO HEAVY, IT BROKE THE SHUTTERING! 😳

And for a moment, we thought these enormous concrete steps were going to be a disaster…

Welcome back to our Hilltop House project, where we’ve been creating something pretty special.

When we first designed these large-format concrete steps, we knew they were going to make a serious statement.

But getting them built? That was another story. 😂

During the concrete pour, the sheer weight and pressure became so immense that the shuttering actually split, breaking the pins holding everything together!

Not exactly what you want to see when you’re halfway through a pour!

But we weren’t about to let that ruin the vision.

We managed to rescue the situation, get everything back under control and bring these incredible steps to life.

And just LOOK at them now! 😍

We’ve been carefully introducing planting around each level, softening those bold architectural lines with beautiful textures, movement and greenery.

It’s that contrast between the raw concrete and the softness of nature that makes this design so special.

What was once simply a steep bank is becoming a stunning architectural feature, giving the entire garden character, depth and a real sense of arrival.

And the best part?

Our clients are absolutely over the moon with how it’s turning out. 🙌

Projects like this remind me why I love what we do. Not everything goes to plan, but seeing a design come together like this makes every challenge worthwhile.

What a beast!!

£30,000 OF LUXURY 👀

Because this might be one of the most ridiculous things we’ve ever built in a garden…

Or one of the best.

When we first started, there was nothing glamorous about it.

Blockwork. Measurements. Cutting. Waterproofing. Fabrication. Hours and hours spent getting tiny details right that nobody would ever notice once it was finished.

And all for one feature.

A completely bespoke £30,000 water wall.

There were definitely moments during this build where you look at the amount of work going into it and think…

Is this actually going to be worth it? We knew the end what we are trying to achieve would be.. but the small cubes made from porcelain was never ending..

Then we turned the water on.

At night, this thing completely changes the garden.

The water catches the lighting, the texture comes alive and suddenly what was essentially a bare brick wall becomes one of the first things you notice when you walk outside.

Is it necessary?

Absolutely not.

That’s almost the point.

Luxury gardens aren’t always about what you need.

Sometimes they’re about creating that one detail that makes you stop every single time you walk outside.

But I already know this one is going to divide people…

£30,000 for a bespoke water feature.

Worth every penny…

Most people would have looked at this garden and seen a dark, damp, awkward space with no real potential.

We saw something completely different.

The original garden felt tired, overgrown and disconnected from the house. Old brick paving, patchy planting and no real structure meant there was nowhere that made you want to stop, sit down and actually enjoy being outside.

So rather than simply making it look “nicer”, we completely changed how the space feels.

The design became calmer, more architectural and far more immersive. Dense layered planting softens the harder elements. Textured concrete walls bring structure. Oversized greenery creates privacy and atmosphere. Subtle lighting changes the garden again as daylight disappears.

Nothing was added just to fill a space.

Every line has a purpose.
Every material earns its place.
Every planting pocket helps soften the architecture.

And that’s the difference between simply landscaping a garden and actually designing one.

Your garden shouldn’t feel like the leftover space behind your house.

It should feel like one of the best parts of living there.
