SITE VISIT to this dream garden 🌿 I must admit.. Sites are the most attractive things.. at first anyway.

But this stage of any project is critical. It’s crucial in many ways. The foundations to any project are the longevity of that project. The garden work will stand the test of time if done right at this stage.

One thing is difficult during the winter in the UK when landscaping.. is making sure everywhere is as tidy as possible.

For the client, the guys head space and for the cleanliness of the company.

So many beautiful details to go in on this project! Stay tuned for the result!

The biggest mistake in garden design? Most people start with products. We start with people.

One of the biggest questions I get asked is, “How do you come up with your designs?”

The answer surprises most people.

I don’t start with paving. I don’t start with pergolas. I don’t even start with planting.

I start with your life.

How do you leave the house every morning? Where will you drink your first coffee? Where will the kids play? Where will the dog run? When your friends come over for a BBQ, where does everyone naturally gather? When the sun starts setting with a glass of wine in your hand, where do you want to be sitting?

Those answers shape the entire design.

Only once we’ve mapped out how you’ll actually live in the space do we begin introducing the materials, planting and structures that support that lifestyle.

Every path should have a purpose.

Every seating area should invite you to stop.

Every planting bed should soften the hard landscaping while creating interest throughout the seasons.

A luxury garden isn’t about filling it with expensive features. It’s about making every square metre work together so the garden feels effortless to use.

That’s why we spend so much time refining our designs before a single shovel goes into the ground.

Because a beautiful garden that doesn’t suit your lifestyle will never be a great garden.

The best gardens aren’t built around products.

They’re built around people.

And when you get that right, everything else falls into place.

Garden screens are one of those details that can completely change how a garden feels.

They’re not just there to cover up an ugly fence.

Used properly, screening can give you privacy, structure and a proper backdrop to the garden, while turning areas you’d normally try to hide into part of the design.

On this garden, we’re installing these decorative screens amongst the planting, and once everything starts growing around them, they’ll look even better. Rather than staring straight at a standard fence line, your eye is drawn towards something that actually feels intentional.

And that’s the difference.

A dream garden isn’t just about laying an expensive patio and chucking a few plants around it. It’s about thinking about every angle, every view and every detail.

Screens can hide boundaries, disguise unwanted areas, create separation between different zones and give climbing plants and surrounding planting something incredible to work against.

Sometimes it’s these smaller finishing touches that take a garden from looking “nice” to looking properly finished.

Never underestimate what you put around the edges of your garden. It completely changes what you see in the middle.

This is the moment.. it’s either make or break for a project. You either do things twice or scrimp on the foundations. The foundations aren’t the most sexiest thing about the project which I get that but it’s the most durable.

DREAM SPACES💪🏼 From visualisation to reality 💚

16/08/2026

Hearing James say he absolutely loves this space is exactly why we do what we do.

This garden used to be somewhere they barely spent time in. No atmosphere, no comfort, nowhere that truly invited you outside to slow down and enjoy the space. Now it has completely changed the feeling of their home.

The seating area has become the heart of the garden. Somewhere to sit in the sunshine with a coffee in the morning, host friends in the evening, or simply switch off after long days. And that is the powerful thing about great garden design. It is not just about making somewhere look good. It is about creating spaces where real life happens.

Family conversations. Summer evenings. Drinks with friends. Quiet moments in the sun. Memories that people actually remember years later.

Seeing clients genuinely excited to spend time outdoors again is what makes every bit of hard work worth it.

Because at the end of the day, this is far bigger than paving, timber.

It is about building a lifestyle people fall in love with every single day.

THIS is what stops a gravel driveway from becoming an absolute nightmare đź‘€

We’re transforming this driveway at the minute and this is one of those parts of the build that you probably won’t even know is here once we’re finished… but it makes such a difference.

Before any of the finished gravel goes down, we’re installing these gravel grids from CORE.

We’ve collaborated with CORE on this project and we’ve actually used these grids on loads of our driveways and gardens now.

For me, they’re essential.

Without something holding the gravel in place, over time you’re going to get movement. Cars drive over it, people walk across it, gravel gets pushed around and before you know it you’re constantly raking it back into position.

These grids basically lock everything together.

You still get that beautiful, natural gravel driveway, but underneath you’ve got a proper system helping keep everything stable and in position.

And this is exactly why I’m always talking about what goes underneath a garden or driveway.

Anyone can make something look good when it’s first finished.

The real test is how it looks and performs years later.

We’ve used these in driveways, pathways and different areas throughout our gardens and they’ve made such a difference.

You won’t see any of this when we’re finished.

But that’s exactly the point.

The details you don’t see are often the most important ones.

A Grand Garden Reimagined | Westerham, Kent

This is about far more than redesigning a garden. It’s about creating an entire setting worthy of the property.

For this project in Westerham, Kent, we’ve reimagined both the garden and the driveway to create one cohesive landscape, where the experience begins from the moment you arrive at the property.

The new driveway design creates a stronger sense of arrival, introducing structure, considered planting and materials that feel established and appropriate to the architecture of the home. From there, the garden opens into a much more considered landscape, balancing generous lawns, mature-feeling planting, beautiful entertaining spaces and quieter areas to escape into.

The key for a property of this scale is restraint. Luxury doesn’t mean filling every square metre. It means giving each element room to breathe and making every area feel as though it belongs there.

We’ve kept a strong connection between the architecture and landscape, combining traditional character with a more contemporary way of living. Westerham itself has a strong historic and rural identity, so respecting that relationship between property and landscape is particularly important.
