A detailed aerial view of a church spire captured using a drone during a Quinquennial church survey inspection. The use of drones reduces the need for access, improves health and safety and provides clear visual data to assist our surveys and long term maintenance planning.

Spot the repaired modillion. Great work as usual from .heritage_construction where we had a single cracked modillion bracket under the cornice of this Grade II block, where the embedded metalwork was corroding. Very impressive to see the work in progress, and the process to replace the metalwork in stainless steel and re-form the profile by hand and eye. Just needs some further paint coats in the future to round off the crisp edges.

A photogrammetry project to support a roof and upper elevation condition survey on this Victorian block. With no safe roof access, we used a drone to capture overlapping images and built a 3D model for the client to explore. A far more interactive way to show layout, defects, areas of water ingress along with recommendations.

Yesterday we had an enjoyable afternoon at Geo Business at Excel London looking at the rapid advancements in drone and scanning tech, and how this can be utilised for surveying, inspection and monitoring purposes.

We are keen to keep up to date with the new tech to advance and expand the services we provide, including photogrammetry for modelling whole buildings, roofs or individual elevations. Watch this space.
