Another successful commercial roofing project completed by the Stormforce Roofing team in Perranporth.

This project involved a complete refurbishment of the existing roof, with a over roof supplied by Drake Scaffolding, with the careful removal of the original slate covering and coping stones. During the strip, extensive timber decay was identified within the gutter, requiring the installation of a new timber gutter before it was waterproofed using a high-performance WestWood Liquid Technologies Limited.

To improve the roof’s long-term performance, new counter battens were installed over the existing sarking boards, followed by a new breathable membrane. The roof was then finished with new natural slates, complemented by a modern vented hip and ridge system to enhance ventilation and durability.

The coping stones were re-bedded onto the new Westwood waterproofing system and expertly finished with interlocking lead detailing, providing both a robust weatherproof solution and a high-quality finish.

A great result delivered by the team, ensuring this property is protected for many years to come.

Another successful project delivered by the team, this time in partnership with UCS College Group at Cannington College.

The works involved the installation of a new Moy Materials Waterproofing System, providing a high-quality, durable roofing solution designed for long-term performance.

Despite some challenging site conditions, the team maintained the highest standards throughout, delivering an excellent finish that everyone involved can be proud of.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to another successful project.

A fantastic transformation of this key community building, helping to extend its service life and ensure it continues to support the people who rely on it for many years to come.

Working in partnership with CLC, LiveWell and Alumasc Roofing , the project involved a complete strip-off of the existing roof, installation of new roof decking, and the application of a new built-up roofing (BUR) system incorporating tapered insulation to improve both performance and drainage.

To complete the refurbishment, the plant room and internal courtyard were upgraded with new cementitious cladding, giving the building a modern, refreshed appearance while enhancing its long-term durability.

A great example of collaborative working to deliver a high-quality, sustainable roofing solution.

At Stormforce, we are proud to continue our commitment to supporting the Plymouth community through our ongoing partnership with Building Plymouth.

As part of this initiative, we are delighted to have adopted Whitleigh Primary School, reinforcing our dedication to engaging with and investing in the next generation.

Developing apprentices and creating meaningful career opportunities has always been a key part of our business. By working with local schools from an early age, we hope to inspire young people to consider the construction industry as an exciting, rewarding and highly skilled career path. Through education, engagement and real-life industry experiences, we aim to work with Building Plymouth to show the wide range of opportunities available within modern construction—from traditional trades to the latest technologies and sustainable building practices.

We believe that encouraging young people to explore careers in construction is essential to addressing future skills shortages while creating lasting opportunities within our local communities.

We look forward to working closely with the pupils, staff and Building Plymouth to help inspire the workforce of tomorrow and continue making a positive difference across Plymouth.

Stormforce are delighted to see the successful completion of refurbishment works at Welland House, delivering a comprehensive upgrade designed to enhance both the appearance and long-term performance of this important facility.

The project included the installation of a new roof covering, full chimney render renewal, solar panel installation, new aluminium doors and windows, together with modern Cedral cladding to transform and protect the external envelope of the building for many years to come. These improvements not only enhance the sustainability and durability of the property, but also help create a safer, more comfortable environment for those who rely on the facility every day.

Welland House provides a safe, caring and supportive home for families with children who have complex health, physical and behavioural needs, making the work carried out here especially meaningful to the entire Stormforce team. We are proud to have played a part in helping secure the future of such a vital community resource and would like to thank everyone involved in the successful delivery of the project.
