When it comes to being a good natural slater it’s not only the standard of works you produce when doing a full roof it’s knowing your materials and where your doing the roof.
So here we have a building at west hoe where the wind strength and rain are one of the most severe through the winter.
So we have a Brazilian slate which is the most brittle natural slate on the market so not a good choice and they’ve not hooked them either 🙈already one broken on left verge.A dry slate verge should of been used also.
The ridges are completely the wrong angle and sitting to high so I reckon most of them will be blown off by the end of winter.
So tell the clients from the start what materials they need as most will pay a bit extra if they want it to last.

This mornings work Always find taking you time on the strip out to limit breakages and keeping them in order saves so much time and end up with a better looking job also,even on an old build.😁🔨

Interesting afternoon walking through the old Dance Academy (palace theatre) to look at a roof to price possibly in the near future.
So many memories flooding back in these rooms 🕺😂

Absolute heller of a morning🙈Knightmare strip as slate double nailed as doughnut roofers before who messed the battening up😳blocking roads with delivery and on top of that drizzle all morning 🤷🔨but we push onwards 😁💪
