Great to be invited back to Jackie’s in Ivybridge to complete the second part of the rear garden revamp and replace her front fencing.

Sat down together and came up with an ultra low maintenance plan for the garden that was future proof for her.

Few changes along the way with a path realignment and replacement of fencing to one side and the rear with a shiny new gate also!

I think the new combination of textures and feel throughout the garden really make it pop

Thanks as ever for having me Jackie and enjoy your new space!!!!

It was great to get back up to my old stomping ground of Cranbrook to work with Sara and Jacques on their garden.

A straightforward design to eliminate a couple of problems….the first being the tiny patio area which led to a lack of seating and entertaining space and mud constantly being brought in to the house by their active dogs and secondly the grass creep into their borders leading to a lack of definition to their garden.

A new fully wrap across the rear of the house patio measuring a fine 20m2 out of grey Indian sandstone was added with new border definition made from sleepers and even a completely new lawn with drainage precautions.

Amazing what a week can do and fully transformed this outdoor space!!!

Loved working with Steve and Leah on the first couple of projects in their garden revamp.

First I stripped down and replaced much of the fence on the right hand side of the garden replacing all rotten old posts and reframing in readiness for new 6x2 gravel boards and featheredge. Then created two new sleeper edges one at either end in readiness for a new artificial lawn to go in.

As with all projects changes were made and items added with a new stunning composite deck in charcoal with a graphite grey edging board on top of a 6x2 fully deck taped frame to create a new sun deck area and make use of dead space at the bottom of the garden.

Finally the planting of the raised sleeper beds and the new lawn going in on top of a fully permeable sub base made up of 150mm 803 stone with a 50mm granodust layer on top of this….really finishes it off when the 38mm Cape Verde grass was laid on top….what a change!!!

Over to John and Jeanette’s next in Ivybridge to work through the plan I’d created on an earlier visit to make the most of their garden after building works in the past.

A new sleeper edge was put in place to create shaped bed areas and allow for seating and entertaining areas with the addition of a new modern contemporary Venetian fence on a brand new fence line fully framed and backed with a black membrane. This combined with two new composite deck areas in charcoal created a striking look for what was dead space.

All prepped now for John to continue the work and bitumen paint all sleeper areas and get the black limestone slabs laid!

Off to Callington now for a garden revamp on behalf of Bunny Homes. After renting the property out to long term tenants for a few years the garden was desperately in need of a clear and refresh.

After having the tree surgeon in for a few days I was asked to come in and completely re fence the garden to make safe and return the non existent lawn area.

A big difference and all ready for the next family to enjoy!!!!!

It’s lovely to be recommended by clients and that’s how Bev in Plymouth found me. I popped over and viewed her garden and came up with a plan to modernise her space and soften the concrete jungle!

After removing all the fencing I reframed on both sides adding new posts and a new full 4x2 framework cladding one side on each with featheredge for her neighbours vista and then the inside of the garden in a new Venetian fence. Extended and overclad the existing wall separating the top and bottom garden and switched the step alignment to make the most out of a sun trap for her.

The new Indian sandstone paving on the bottom tier of the garden replacing the old dot dabbed and laid on soil slabs and the unused block planters makes a huge difference and creates a larger area to entertain in.

Amazing what a change in a small space can bring!!

When you’re a stepdad to older kiddywinks you quite often get called in to help out….Paige and Saif wanted a seating area in their new house in Plymouth.

Popped over and created some floating benches and planters with a composite deck area in charcoal for them to host their gatherings in the future

Sooooooo……next up on the MjP train….Jennifer and Ricks garden in Plymouth. Jennifer contacted me through Facebook and asked me to whip over and have a look at the best way of popping a new artificial lawn in for them to cut down on maintenance and make the garden a more viable space for the whole year round.

A couple of days hard work and hey presto…..fully green space!!!

Well first up….a visit to a returning client in Saxon Gate. After completing projects for Mark in the past I was asked to come back and replace his turf (well mud and tufts!) with a new lush artificial lawn. Depite trying several times to improve the existing turf on what can only be described as a house builders s**g heap defeat was finally admitted and I was called in.

Amazing what difference a couple of days makes!!

Great to see a past project looking so good and to have such a good relationship/friendship that I was called first and trusted to help again.

Thanks as ever Mark and look forward to catching up soon!!

Morning all! I thought it was about time I updated the page after months of not doing so….to be truthful this years been manic with house sales and moves. I’m not massively in to constant updates as I’m too busy life and work wise and I hate those jazzy….’ooh this is Project Primrose and look what we’ve done!’ videos…I’m a one man band, I haven’t got the time to do them as I concentrate on getting the work done and truthfully don’t really know how to do it!!!

I’ll update the page now….hope you’re all enjoying your summers! As ever if I can help with your projects don’t hesitate to give me a shout!!

Ps….keep an eye out as a new venture is in the offing….exciting times!!!!!
