DRIVERS LOG 55……. The Social Media Cesspit.

This is the 55th of Keith’s “musings” or “pondering” videos…….

In this video Keith gives some comments on the world of Social Media, with a particular focus on how so many businesses are desperately fighting for attention and how many parties use social media to pretend to be far more successful and/or wealthy than they really are.

Why do companies and individuals do this? What are their aims?…… We likely all know the answers.

In this modern world, has Social Medua turned into a cesspit of needless content, where it’s hard to believe most of what you see? And where is this taking us?

Keith comments on local businesses, nationwide businesses and individuals and companies in the “course selling” areas, of property and construction.

KEC prefer to be different. And we always will be. But most of what is on social media these days is complete nonsense……..

Video 8 - …..🏠 🏡 🏠 🏡 🏠 🏡

We have HOUSES!!!!

This video shows you huge progress on this site in Plymouth, all 6 houses are established, 4 are built and 2 are going up now. In fact 2 are roofed, and 2 more are nearly roofed too.

In a weeks time all the Timber Framing will be finished, the roofs on Houses 3 & 4 will be done and Houses 5 & 6 will be ready to roof straight away.

With Internal Skin Timber Frame houses, you complete the groundworks and slab or block & beam bases and then the Timber Frame is built up from there. You then build up the outer skin, in this case in both brick & block, which KEC are undertaking.

There are trades fitting out the internals already too, including our friends at Titan Mechanical and Uni-Lec.

A big thanks too to Danny and his team at Aztec Scaffolding, who the client has appointed, for the very new and shiny scaffolds.

This is a 6 House Development Project. On this site in Plymouth, KEC are preparing the site for construction and we’re building 6 modern, 3 storey, 4 bedroom townhouses. This will be a great project to follow.

Tricky groundworks followed by intricate builds which will transform this old site into a lively hub of accommodation for local families.

This video is from when Keith went to meet Robert from Langdon Court, in 2023, to discuss the settlement of KEC’s bills…..

At that meeting Robert offered Keith £250k, which was rejected there and then and Keith told him to do better.

2 days later he offered £275k. Keith told him that KEC would only consider any offer if they could substantiate it, what security would they offer?

Bob then disappeared…… Langdon Court disappeared…… KEC went legal. KEC won, twice. Langdon Court went out of business…….

And Keith still stands by everything that he said in this video from over 3 years ago, which was posted on this day 2 years ago.

If you are able to stand up to someone and hold them to account….. always do it!!!

🌟🔥 NEW SHORTWOOD 🔥🌟

LONG POST - FULL 9 MINUTE WALK THROUGH VIDEO.

When we built our new build in Plymstock we decided that we wanted to make a statement. Make it the best house in the street and make it the best 3 bed house on the market in Plymouth.

We achieved all of that and in the end it never even needed to come to market.

By spending an extra £30k on making the spec really high end rather than average it probably only put an extra £30k-£40k on the sale price. But this extra detail wasn’t for extra profit, it was for pride, and this is a piece of work we are really proud of.

The MEGA RETAINER - …..🏠 🏡 🏠 🏡 🏠 🏡

We have just finished, for now, the huge retaining wall at Woodlands, which separates the raised rear gardens from the rear patio areas. As part of this construction, we have cast 3 separate sets of concrete steps that will each be split in half by fencing or further walling, to create the 6 sets of steps for each house to gain access to the lawns.

This is the cheapest way to create this design. And this wall has drainage behind it and a special membrane which protects the back of the wall from the abutting soil. We have just levelled and compressed the top plateau which can now naturally further compress over the winter with the rain. It hugely neatens the site layout and gives us vastly increased usable space on site for the storage of materials.

This has been a big team effort in between the building phases of the 6 houses, and a big thanks to Darryl at DG bricklaying services and Shaun and all the guys who have helped building this monster.

This is a 6 House Development Project. On this site in Plymouth, KEC are preparing the site for construction and we’re building 6 modern, 3 storey, 4 bedroom townhouses. This will be a great project to follow.
