When we get called out to a blocked drain, we don’t just clear it and drive away.

We like to know why it blocked in the first place.

If that means spending an extra five minutes putting a camera down the line to have a proper look, then that’s what we’ll do. Sometimes it’s something simple, other times there might be roots, a damaged joint, a build-up of waste or another issue that could cause the drain to block again.

We’ll show you what we’ve found, give you sensible advice and let you know if there’s anything you can do to help stop it happening again.

And when we’re finished, we’ll give the area a clean down and leave it tidy.

It’s a small bit of extra effort from us, but it could save you another blocked drain and another call-out further down the line.

Night shifts, tight access, and a major leak at the core of a busy office block. Challenge accepted! 🏢🌙

We recently tackled a complex job lining 2 x 20m stacks, both with multiple 100mm and 40mm grey waste pipes entering on every level.

The Challenge:
Due to extremely tight access and limited space, patching was our only viable option. The biggest hurdle? There was absolutely no chance of getting compressed air into the workspace to operate our standard pneumatic lateral cutter to reinstate the connections.

The Solution:
A massive thank you to James and Stuart at Bluelight, who sent out their Battery Powered Hächler robotic cutter. Wow—what a game changer! 🔋🤖

It was incredibly easy to maneuver around the site and squeeze into the tightest spots. The motor is an absolute powerhouse that would show up most pneumatic cutters, and the crystal-clear camera quality and large monitor made a highly difficult job that much smoother.

The Result:
✅ 40 metres lined across 2 downpipes
✅ Over 20 laterals precision-opened
✅ 2 leaking downpipes—built directly into the core brickwork—fully sealed
