The The Chestnut Appeal Drake's Island Swim is only a few weeks away now. We have proudly sponsored this event as it's a charity very close to our hearts.

The swim starts on the beach at Firestone Bay with swimmers setting out for the Island, round a marker buoy and making their way back to the beach a distance of around 1.5km.

Here’s our stunning co-sponsored lighthouse, as part of the stlukesguidinglights trail, up on the Hoe now until mid September.

She was painted by the incredible Emelie Susie, The Beautiful Mind Artist and has a Beatles theme running through it. It’s situated by the Beatles Bums and we cannot pick out which side is best.

The city centre looks outstanding with the new centre park opened and the lighthouse trail all out. With this sunny weather, we’d rather be here than anywhere else in the UK. We live in this amazing city, the best, and now it looks even better.

Our Lighthouse has been painted by Emelie Susie, The Beautiful Mind Artist and is Beatles themed with many hidden extras. We all can’t wait to see it in situ soon.

I opened a safe today to reveal the medals of someone who served on HMS Conquerer during the Falklands War. That submarine sank the Belgrano. So many stories would have been told by this gentleman.

The other pictures are also from amazing brave and special people, an RAF pilot who was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross during WW2, the medals of SSgt Oz Schmid George Cross and a CBE awarded by King George.

It always amazes me some of the things seen when opening safes.
