💦 Hose pipe ban now in effect.

Although Construction activities can still take place using a hose, such as dampening down dust or filling mixes for example. However, we should be all trying to save our resources where possible.

📲Please reach out if you or business would like advice or support regarding environmental impacts.

From 00:01am on Saturday 8 August, we'll be introducing a hosepipe ban, for all our customers in Devon, Cornwall, parts of Dorset and Somerset and the Isles of Scilly.

The decision follows one of the driest periods in recent years, with rainfall across the South West remaining well below seasonal averages over many months, and leading to the Environment Agency declaring half of England, including the South West, in drought.

This means that you must not use hosepipes to:
👉 Water your garden
👉 Clean your, car, patio or driveway
👉 Fill a paddling pool, swimming pool or hot tub
👉 Clean walls, paths or windows

You can still carry out many of your usual activities but we ask that everyone please use water carefully during this period of drought to help protect our environment and water resources.

📢I am excited to share with you that we have a new member of the D4S team, Lucie!👏

Lucie has recently completed her A-levels and when stuck on what to do next, we presented her with an opportunity to work with us to help support D4S as a growing business.

Lucie has said herself that she can’t wait to start her health and safety journey as the D4S Business Support Coordinator. Whilst helping with admin and supporting D4S, Lucie has already started her level 3 NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety where she will gain her Tech IOSH qualification.👷🏼‍♀️

With that, Lucie will be gaining experience and assisting D4S in ensuring we give the best support and advice for all our current and future clients!

⏰ It’s been a long time since our last post! ⏰

Here are some monthly highlights on what we’ve been up to…

In May, we worked within the running events industry on the 2026 Plymouth Half Marathon.🏃‍♀️

In June, we continued our support on the M3, working for our Earthworks partners.

Finally, in July, after several nights at Wembley Stadium along with a dabble at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in an events safety capacity, we are back into the world of construction! 🦺
