A small project, but a big improvement ready for the colder, wetter months ahead!

Our client wanted to improve both the condition and thermal performance of this bay roof, replacing the old, heavily perished lead covering and upgrading the insulation at the same time.

The existing roof covering was completely stripped back before we altered the roof build-up to accommodate 150mm of insulation, significantly improving the U-value and overall thermal performance of the roof.

To achieve the additional height required, we also had to carefully remove the existing cavity tray and install a new cavity tray higher within the brickwork, ensuring the new roof-to-wall junction remained correctly weathered.

The roof was then completed with:

150mm insulation upgrade
New cavity tray installed at the increased roof height
Full 3-layer torch-on felt roofing system
New lead cover flashing
New white uPVC fascia

A much cleaner finish and, more importantly, a properly upgraded roof ready to deal with plenty more British winters. 🌧️❄️

We’re making some really good progress on our latest project in Plymstock.

The existing roof covering has been stripped back, allowing us to inspect the roof structure before installing a new breathable membrane, treated battens and Marley concrete tiles in brown.

With a roof of this size and shape, there are plenty of hips, valleys and junctions to work through, but it’s now really starting to come together. The difference between the old and new roof is already huge.

A few more areas to complete and plenty of finishing details still to go before we can call this one finished.

We’ve been incredibly busy over the past few weeks, which unfortunately means we’ve been a little quiet on social media. That said, we’re looking forward to catching up and sharing some of the projects we’ve recently completed, along with those currently underway.

This week we’ve started work on a lovely bungalow in Plymstock, where we’ll be carrying out a complete roof replacement using new brown Marley tiles. As always, we’re looking forward to seeing the transformation once the scaffolding comes down.

Another complete re-roof finished in Plymouth 🏠🔨

It’s always refreshing to revisit a job once the scaffolding has come down and finally see the finished project properly.

The existing roof covering was completely stripped and replaced with a new tiled roof system, along with new anthracite fascia boards and guttering throughout.

A clean, modern finish that has completely transformed the appearance of the property while providing long-term protection from the elements.

Another great project completed by the team and one we’re proud to put our name to.

Back working for another repeat client 🏠

We were recently invited back to carry out further works on this property, this time focusing on the restoration of the chimney.

Once the chimney was stripped back, the extent of the deterioration became clear. Loose and defective masonry was removed before rebuilding and restoring the chimney where required, followed by new render and a fresh paint finish to complete the works.

It’s always good to be invited back by previous clients. For us, repeat business is one of the best signs that we’re doing things properly and building long-term relationships with our customers.

We’re all aware of how much costs have increased over the last few years.

Another project underway this week 🔨☀️
We’ve removed and correctly disposed of the old asbestos roof, installed a brand new roof frame and timber deck, all prepared and ready for a new 2 layer felt roofing system.

We’ll also be fitting new fascia and guttering to complete the job and give the property a fresh new finish.

Despite the heat, the team have been working hard to keep the project moving safely and efficiently 💪

Another busy day ahead for the team 👌
