* Garage door removed and opening blocked up
* New windows installed
* Old asbestos sheet roof safely removed and properly disposed of
* Back door opening blocked up
* New bathroom window installed
* New GRP cold roof with 175mm insulation and vapour barrier
* 3x2 stud walls with 65mm insulation and vapour barrier
* All insulation joints taped
* Self-levelling floor
* 100mm insulated floor with 22mm chipboard
* Full plaster skim and painted white throughout
* New skirting and internal door
* New flooring
* Full external render for a clean, fresh finish
* Brand-new bathroom with shower 🚿

Another barn transformation completed.

This project involved opening up an old blocked-up doorway and converting it into a brand-new window opening while preserving the original character of the barn.

The work included:

* 🔨 Removing the old blockwork and brick infill.
* 🪵 Creating a new window opening with a solid oak beam to match the existing traditional features.
* 🧱 Building new brickwork to both sides of the opening to blend seamlessly with the existing barn windows.
* 🏡 Enlarging the opening internally and externally to suit the new window installation.
* Completing all internal plastering, leaving a smooth finish so it looks as though the opening has always been there.

We always aim to make our alterations look original, taking the time to match existing materials and finishes so the completed work blends perfectly with the character of the building.
