Here are a few ideas to get you started:

☀️➡️🍂 After a dry summer, don't forget your garden needs some TLC too.

A prolonged period of dry weather can leave lawns, borders, shrubs and trees under stress even if everything looks green again after a little rain.

Now is a good time to take some time to inspect your garden. Look for dry or damaged plants, compacted soil and areas where water may not be reaching the roots effectively.

If you can, it is also a great time to add organic matter to your soil, mulch around plants and give established trees and shrubs fresh nutrients.

And remember: newly planted plants often need particular care to establish strong root systems especially after a dry summer.

There's a lot of advice shared during hot weather but not all of it is true! Let's separate fact from fiction.

❌ Myth: You only need to drink water when you're thirsty.
✅ Fact: By the time you feel thirsty, you may already be mildly dehydrated. Sip water regularly throughout the day.

❌ Myth: A fan will always keep you safe in extreme heat.
✅ Fact: Fans can help you feel cooler, but in very high temperatures they may not be enough on their own. Stay hydrated and keep your home cool too.

❌ Myth: If it's cloudy, you don't need sunscreen.
✅ Fact: UV rays can pass through clouds, so it's still important to protect your skin.

❌ Myth: Opening all the windows during the day cools your home down.
✅ Fact: When it's hotter outside than inside, keep windows and curtains closed during the hottest part of the day. Open windows in the evening and overnight when the air is cooler.

One of our Treasures has been using her summer produce to keep cool.

🥒 Refreshing Cucumber Salad
Mix sliced cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, a splash of lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Add a sprinkle of feta if you have it.

🍉 Strawberry & Mint Bowl
Cut some Strawberries, add fresh mint leaves, and a squeeze of lime for a naturally sweet, cooling snack.

🥣 Greek Yoghurt & Berry Pot
Layer Greek yoghurt with frozen or fresh berries and a drizzle of honey for a refreshing breakfast or dessert.

🍓 Frozen Fruit Lollies
Blend bananas, strawberries, or mango with a little yoghurt or fruit juice, pour into lolly moulds (or small cups with sticks), and freeze.
