Indigro Independent Agronomist Crop Consultants. Working for farmers as independent crop, soil and environm

Indigro is an agricultural consultancy business based around a team of highly knowledgeable and motivated independent agronomists. With over 50 years of combined experience, we take pride in offering the most reliable and cost-effective advice to farmers, land agents and contractors in order to maximise output whilst minimising costs. Cropping advice covers all main arable, root and pulse crops as

well as specialist planting on both arable and mixed enterprises. We also offer broader agricultural consultation services ranging from cultivation systems to nutrient management and regulatory advice. We conduct our own trials and research analysis to ensure our customers receive the most up to date information. And as all our agronomists are members of the Association of Independent Crop Consultants, we have no alliance to any manufacturer or distributor ensuring all our advice is as objective as it is reliable.

💬 What they enjoy about agronomy:
“One of the things I enjoy most about agronomy is the people. Every farm, every client and every season is different, and I genuinely enjoy building relationships, solving problems and turning technical information into practical decisions on farm. If you can do that while having a bit of a laugh along the way, it makes the job even better.”

At Indigro, our agronomists pride themselves on delivering independent, practical and cost-effective advice - and Luke is certainly no exception.

Stay tuned as we introduce the rest of the team.

Yellow rust isn’t behaving like it used to - and many growers felt that shift last season.

With the breakdown of the Yr15 resistance gene, crops that were once considered low-risk showed infection earlier than expected, even before traditional spray timings. It’s a clear reminder that relying on genetics alone is no longer enough.

In our latest blog, agronomist Harry shares what’s changed, what it means on farm, and how to adapt your approach - from fungicide timing to variety selection and risk management.

If you’re reassessing your strategy for this season or planning ahead for the next, now’s the time to take a more proactive, flexible approach.

Independent agronomy means the farm always comes first. Every decision is made with the long-term in mind - not sales targets, not pushing products, just what genuinely works for the land, the crop, and the farmer.

Good independent agronomy helps farms stay resilient, protects margins through better decisions, and builds systems that keep performing year after year. What does independent agronomy mean to you?

Want to find out what we’ve been up to over the quieter winter months? We always know how to keep ourselves busy!

Take a read of our latest blog, written by agronomist Chloe, to catch up on everything from our internal conference and farmer events to the new tools we’re developing - plus a look at the events we’ll be attending this year.

Read more here:

Winter is often seen as the quieter part of the farming calendar, but for those of us in agronomy, it is anything but idle. While the pace in the field may slow, the work behind the scenes rarely does. In many ways, the winter months...

We’ve been a little quiet on socials lately, so it felt like the right time to (re)introduce ourselves…

We’re Indigro - independent agronomy crop consultants.

Our team brings together 100+ years of combined experience, delivering practical, reliable and cost-effective advice to farmers, land agents and contractors - helping maximise crop potential while supporting the environment.

Over the coming months we’ll be sharing team introductions, conference updates, recruitment news and behind-the-scenes glimpses of agronomist life (including plenty of worm photos! 🪱).

The cold weather and short days of January initially left me wishing I could curl up somewhere warm and hibernate until signs of spring started to appear. In fact, agronomists seem to go through a form of hibernation at this time of year. Crop walking...

Damian McAuley's most recent article is now on the Indigro Website. Come and read about the AICC annual conference, and believe it or not the 1970 Apollo 13 mission!

Agronomist Damian McAuley February 2021   There are numerous examples of erroneous quoting and cultural misremembering. Julius Caesar never said, “Veni, vidi, vici”. Sherlock Holmes never said, “Elementary my dear Watson”. And despite it being perhaps the most quoted movie line ever, Humphr...
