One year of Black Deer 🦌

On 1 September, Black Deer Ltd turns one. Twelve months ago we took on our first job. Since then we've worked at 88 sites across 68 towns and cities — the length and breadth of the UK, from Edinburgh down to the Isle of Wight, Llandudno across to Norwich — and clocked over 3,500 days on site along the way.

Most of that first year has been healthcare and NHS work: hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centres and community units, alongside schools, prisons and commercial fit-out. None of it happens on our own — a big thank you to the manufacturers and main contractors we've worked alongside, who trusted us with their work and their name on site this year.

And the biggest thank you goes to our installers and crew — the miles, the early starts, and the careful, precise finish on every single job. That's what's really pinned on this map.

Here's to year two. If you've got an upcoming healthcare, education or commercial fit-out anywhere in the UK, we'd be happy to help — take a look at what we do at blackdeerltd.com.

2 x LABOURERS WANTED — HMP HIGHPOINT, SUFFOLK

Black Deer Ltd are looking for 2 reliable labourers for a long-term project at HMP Highpoint, Stradishall — between Haverhill and Newmarket. Starting Tuesday 1st September.

✅ £160 per day, self-employed (CIS)
✅ 7:30am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
✅ Up to 9 months' work for the right people
✅ Paid weekly, every Wednesday
✅ We cover your DBS & essential tickets
✅ Branded workwear provided

THE WORK
General labouring for our installation teams — moving and distributing furniture and equipment around site, keeping areas clear, and getting materials where they need to be. It's honest graft and it's on your feet all day.

YOU MUST HAVE
• A valid CSCS card — we can't get you through the gate without one
• Your own transport — it's a rural site with no useful public transport

Site experience preferred. Being reliable and hard-working matters more to us than anything on paper.

For the right people this is more than a few weeks' labouring. Work hard and show potential and we'll invest in you — training, NVQs and a route into installation work as the company grows.

Prison site: we'll start your DBS and BPSS with you when you join — it does NOT need to be complete before you start. Bring photo ID and proof of address on day one.

We've been let down by no-shows before, so we're only interested in people who'll be there Tuesday morning. If something changes, just tell us — we'd far rather know.

No agencies please — we're recruiting directly.

Bespoke reception counter installed at Peterborough City Hospital 🏥

A great-looking feature from another healthcare installation completed by the Black Deer team.

Working on behalf of , we installed this made-to-measure reception counter, finished in dark walnut with a bold orange feature band, glass console top and a lowered accessible section.

The curved end and continuous feature band make it a real focal point—and required careful setting out on site to achieve a clean, seamless finish.

Another quality installation from the team.

🏥 Completed: Central Surgery, Farnham

Another healthcare installation completed for David Bailey Furniture Systems, including bespoke reception furniture, clinical storage and specialist service riser joinery throughout the surgery.

A lot of the work here is in the details you don’t immediately see — carefully designed housings concealing electrical and building services, while still maintaining easy access for future maintenance.

A practical, durable finish designed for a busy healthcare environment.

It’s the details you don’t see that make the difference.

Finished: Rossington Health Hub 🏥

Another healthcare project completed by the Black Deer team.

Working on behalf of David Bailey Furniture Systems, we delivered the full FF&E installation across all three floors of the new Rossington Health Hub in Doncaster.

The project included consultant and treatment rooms, utility rooms, Changing Places and accessible washrooms, staff facilities, offices, meeting rooms and hot-desking areas – with over 80 man-days on site to bring the project to completion.

One of the biggest challenges was access. Due to the site constraints, every worktop, cabinet and panel had to be lifted to the upper floors by tele-handler before installation could begin. Thanks to careful planning and a great team effort, everything went in smoothly.

We take pride in the details, right down to the parts you’ll never see. Every unit was checked, adjusted and finished to the same standard inside as it was outside.

A big thank you to the team at David Bailey Furniture Systems for another great project, and to everyone involved in delivering another quality installation.

If you’ve got an upcoming healthcare, commercial or education fit-out, we’d be pleased to help.
