“Could we have a fire door installed from our hallway directly into the garage?”

Not a problem. 🔨

Sometimes it’s the smaller alterations that make a big difference to how a home works.

For this job, the customer wanted direct access from the house into their attached garage. We formed the new opening and installed the appropriate door set, ready for the surrounding finishes to be completed.

A relatively straightforward alteration, but one that makes the garage far more convenient to access from inside the home.

At Watson & Barrie Ltd, it’s not always about the big extensions and full renovations — we’re just as happy helping with those smaller jobs that improve your home.

….. another project we’ve just completed and are super proud of …..

Hair Salon Transformation – Whittlesey

Following a small fire and the resulting water damage, we were asked to completely transform this local hair salon.

The brief from the client couldn’t have been simpler:
“Make this salon worthy of being the premier hair salon Whittlesey has to offer.”

No drawings. No mood boards. No design concepts.

Just a licence to be creative… exactly the way we like it.

Working on a well-known business in your hometown always brings a little extra pressure, but the feedback we’ve received since the salon reopened has been incredible. It’s great to know we’ve helped create a space that’s as impressive as the service the team

Watson & Barrie have been a little quiet on social media lately, so we thought we’d let you know what we’ve been up to!

To be honest, after a slower January and February while waiting for the weather to improve, it’s been heads down, cracking on and catching up. We’ve had a busy few months since, and with the summer holidays just around the corner, we thought we’d start sharing some of the projects weve recently finished

This project was so hampered by the winter’s weather it seemed to go on forever. Not all bad though as the customers baking skills were incredible and we were very well looked after. These are the final pictures following and complete overhaul to the rear of the house. Works included a full width extension with some demo works to an existing utility. Internal wall removals and the fit out of this new space. We might add the touch of yellow in the project is the clients choice and although very over powering once the navy blue units were installed it did grow on us. A beautiful project for a beautiful family and a joy to work for.

As the sun sets on our 2025 working calendar, we’ve had a final push this week to get a couple of projects successfully handed over. 🌅

One project in particular has been an absolute pleasure to deliver – creating a new building for a local charity, providing a space fit for purpose so the local food pantry can continue the amazing work they do for the community.

It’s projects like this that remind us why we do what we do. A big well done to everyone involved and thank you to the charity for trusting Watson Barrie Ltd to be part of something so worthwhile. 💙

Bad weather may have put a grinding halt to our current extension build this year, but it gave us the perfect opportunity to pull forward this little project — just in time for Christmas 🎄

This hallway renovation is now complete and ready for the finishing touches. The works included:
✔️ New LVT flooring
✔️ New skirtings and architraves
✔️ New doors to the lounge, cloakroom, and kitchen
✔️ A smart, functional under-stairs storage solution

All wrapped up and ready for the customer to add their own splash of paint and personal style. A great example of making the most of time, space, and a change in plans.

Another tidy job completed by Watson and Barrie.

🚨 Huge Appreciation Post Incoming! 🚨

There are bricklayers… and then there is our bricklayer. 👏

We receive so many comments about the exceptional quality of Jason’s work – not just from our clients, but from passers-by who stop to admire it too. His attention to detail and craftsmanship truly set him apart.

Jason is an incredibly talented man who can turn his hand to far more than just laying bricks and blocks (even if he still thinks and acts like he’s 25 😄).

We are very, very lucky to have him as part of the Watson and Barrie Ltd team, and we value him more than he will ever know.

Thank you, Jason – your hard work does not go unnoticed. 👊🧱
