Anyone carrying out gas work for you must be Gas Safe registered. If they’re not, they’re working illegally. Cutting corners to save money is not worth it; it can put lives at risk and could cost more to fix.

Have you noticed? The nights are starting to pull in?
We're snuggling in for the evening.

Stay safe and warm.
Keep your gas fire maintained and safe.

Is it worth using a gas fire?
For many homes, a modern, well-maintained gas fire can still be an economical way to heat the room you’re using rather than the whole house.

As a guide, running a modern gas fire on a low setting (around 2.4kW) for four hours costs approximately £0.71p, based on an average gas price of 7.33p per kWh (As at July 2026).
If your fire has a thermostat, using it will help maximise efficiency.

Over the years, we've come face to face with all sorts of creepy crawlies and a fair few birds.

It isn't just use of lack of use that can cause faults with your gas fire, sometimes teh animal world moves in to take over too!

Super proud of Simon completing his Gas Certification again. This is something that has to be repeated every five years and gets more stringent each time.
The examiners were so impressed they offered him a job!
Well done Simon!! 🍾👏🎉
