As we get closer to the deadline for the Scottish Legislation on the minimum requirements for smoke detectors in domestic properties, there are a number of manufacturers promoting their products. We only use Aico devices as we are competent and trained to do so. The legislation states what minimum cover is required but all houses are different and the owners have different needs. This often means we need to provide additional protection to high risk areas or for elderly residents who would benefit from additional controls.
All works are certified, we are a SELECT approved installer, which may help with home insurance savings.

The existing consumer unit (fuseboard) was original to the property being built in the 1970’s and has worked well. However the owner requested a refresh to the consumer unit as well as some new heaters to be installed in time to rent the property out before Xmas. With lots of radio and tv campaigns publicising the new legislation on smoke detectors coming into force in February 2022, get in touch to discuss your requirements.
While the incoming legislation states what must be covered, all houses are different and installing detectors to protect the occupants will always be our first consideration.

Well today is my 400th day in business. I have had some fantastic help from organisations like the Business Gateway and SELECT to ensure I have the tools required to battle against the obvious issues that we are all experiencing.
In addition to this, the support that other small businesses are providing to each other is excellent. All of the pictures attached involved at least two local companies delivering the end product.

When a couple of the lights in the hub started to go on the blink today we called on our friends at EPS Scotland to ask if they would take a look.

In the dark times, literally in this case, its great to be able to call on people who can help and thanks to them we are all lit up again and still here to serve the community.

And because EPS are such a cracking local business they gave our Bertha Park Foodshare fridge a PAT test while they were here!

We can't thank Ian (EPS Scotland) and Jamie (Edmundson's) enough for sorting this out for us. We can't stop our activities at such a time and thanks to them we don't have to.
