Willow weaving is one of the oldest and traditional of handicrafts which has recently gained a new lease of life. People of all ages enjoy willow weaving – it’s a fantastic creative opportunity to have a go with expert tutor Mel and take home a willow creation hand made by you!
Learn how to make and weave a large obelisk Plant Support for growing sweet peas or climbing beans. These creative, rustic and natural willow plant supports will add structure to your garden. We will be using strong willow rods for the uprights and weaving a spiral from base to tip following traditional techniques. You will also learn how to make a lovely willow bird feeder to contain fat balls as a warm up, using a variety of willow.
This willow weaving course is suitable for those that have had a go at willow weaving before as well as complete novices.

Interested in learning more about Dry Stone Walls and how to build them or maybe you're keen to broaden your garden design or landscaping skillset?

We are delighted to introduce 2 NEW Courses at TASK - one for the general public (1 day: Friday 28th October) and one for the Landscaping Industry (2 days: 24th & 25th November).

Taught by Nick Leitch, one of our Training Partners, Nick grew up in the Cotswolds, setting up his stone walling business back in 2007 which has seen him work alongside well know designers on small and large scale garden design projects.

“Not only is a dry stone wall practical and important to local wildlife, but it also has a rich and storied tradition in its own right.”

Come and learn how to be part of this ancient craft and learn how to build a dry stone wall with an expert stone wall craftsman in this one day introductory course in a small group with plenty of hands on practical experience.

What a few days, what a few weeks!

Ruth and I are incredibly grateful to have been involved with the build, design and planting of a show garden that means so much to us and Frances ‘Frances’ Garden’ has been a labour of love for all three of us and to have had the opportunity to work together and make long lasting friendships will be truly memorable.

It’s been such a humbling experience working together with Frances and we are feeling very proud that we have delivered a garden that demonstrates Frances’ passion for biodiversity and sustainability. Thank you to everyone for the lovely feedback about the garden, we love that everyone loves it as much as we do and it means as much as…Best in Show and a Platinum Award!

Rupert chats to Hort Week Presenter, Rachael Forsyth about his concerns around the skills shortage in landscaping and the launch of his TASK Academy in a bid to address this important issue.

The Plantman’s Ice Garden 🧊 deconstruction at the weekend, minus the ice! The team relocated the beautiful garden to its new home at a local primary school to be enjoyed by pupils, teachers and natures visitors.

Fantastic to be working with one of our Training Partners at Chelsea over the next week. This incredibly exciting designed by contains a 15 tonne block of ice at its centre to highlight the alarming rate at which Arctic ice is disappearing.
