I’m super excited to be attending the Cumbria Life Home and gift show in Keswick this weekend! I’ll be bringing some beautiful & interesting things along including the lovely antique art deco carpet pictured ❤️ The show is at the Keswick Pencil Factory Sat & Sunday 17/18 Oct open 10am - 4pm

Thanks kindly to all who came along to see us over the weekend! It was lovely to meet with people from the parish that I had not yet, and the familiar faces that I’m always grateful so see again ❤️ As you might have gathered, we were busy even late on the Friday building our custom Rug display - which works(!) We also finally got the rugs out of storage bags from our big move, and in the studio ready for visitors. Much love to Beck, Paul Sam and Alex for their invaluable help and to Lucien for the lovely poster ❤️ In two weeks I will be exhibiting at the Cumbria Life Home and Gift Show on the 17th/18th October at The Pencil Factory in Keswick. more details to follow this week

The first Southerfell Oriental Rug show will be next Saturday & Sunday, the 3rd and 4th October. Held at the lovely Mungrisdale village hall. I’ll be open from 10-5 on both days for those who would like to peruse the selection and discuss all aspects of vintage and Antique Rugs ❤️ there is parking available opposite the hall.

The heather has bloomed already in the valley, and at Southerfell Oriental Rugs, there are always flowers underfoot. The studio is now all but finished and I wlll be holding my first 2 day exhibition & sale of vintage and antique rugs at the Mungrisdale Village hall on the 3rd and 4th of October. I’ll post more details in the coming days ❤️

I’m supposed to be inside putting finishing touches to the studio but this old Kurdish Borchalu just made me stop and spend far too long outside sitting on it and taking the photos!
I could list its attributes and also disclose that it has partial excessive wear, fringe damage, no selvedges to speak of and there’s definitely some old gloss paint stuck to it. But all that just doesn’t seem to matter ❤️

New Beginnings.. Souther Fell Oriental Rugs is my new Persian Carpet Studio in Mungrisdale. The new space is open by appointment, and I will be attending several interiors shows this autumn. More details to follow soon ❤️

Look at these two whippersnappers in 2011 planning to open a salvage yard & build a cafe & etc.. swipe left to see the mileage (at least we’re still smiling!) ❤️ love to you all after our last day - we could not have done any of it without you ❤️

And so the sale of the Yard premises is now imminent. I am open tomorrow (Sat 13th) 10-5pm, and next Sat (20th 10-5) will be the last trading day of The Brunswick Yard 😬. The Persian Rug selection will be moving with me to a new location (to be discussed further in a few weeks time) There is still a shed full of misc vintage/antique/useful items here at the yard. I’ll do a follow up post tomorrow about the selling off of those items before we finally close - bargains to be had! - ❤️

29/08/2025

Here’s a handful of new arrivals from far and wide with examples from Turkey, India, Iran, Kurdistan & Afghanistan. Ages from the early 20th century to early 21st.. ❤️ we are open all day Saturdays 10-5 or by appointment if need be.
