Across the most northern counties in England the A66 was officially named in 1920. Route 66 in America open 11th November 1928. From a track set just below the Scottish borders to a road developed in Roman times its now a drive, a ride, a bike, a walk you can stop off stay and discovery what is Route 66 England as it is today. Mountain ranges, Lakes, rivers, local foods, a landscape untouched in many places since the day it was formed.

The future of country ain't looking too shabby, with lots of fresh faced young artists pricking the ears of the fans and country radio.

On tonight's Route 66 Country, I've got some fantastic music from the next generation of mainstream and Texas artists such as Bri Bagwell , Hannah Kay, Clayton Mullen, Caden Gillard, Catie Offerman, John Morgan, Grace Tyler and Grant Gilbert.

There's also a fabulous selection of some of the older favourites from the 90s and 00s including Alan Jackson, Trisha Yearwood, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw and George Strait. I'll also be playing an awesome live track from David Allan Coe from 2003.
