🔧 Bathroom Restoration – Job Complete 🔧

Another bathroom project completed by Prestige Plumbing Heating Ltd — and we’re absolutely delighted with the finished result! 👌

What started as a straightforward bathroom repair turned into a much bigger job once the floor was opened up.

We uncovered significant water damage and rotten timber beneath the existing floor, along with damage to the bath that had been hidden by the bath panel.

The job involved:

✅ Removing damaged flooring
✅ Replacing rotten timber
✅ Installing a new solid floor
✅ Replacing the damaged bath
✅ Renewing the necessary plumbing
✅ Making good around the affected areas
✅ New flooring
✅ Full finishing touches throughout

It definitely turned into more work than originally expected, but the end result was well worth it. 💪 MC Plumbing & Heating

🚿 Another hot water system upgrade completed!

This property had an old gravity-fed hot water system, with a vented cylinder, cold water storage tank and shower pump.

We’ve upgraded the system to a modern mains-pressure hot water setup, including:

✅ New unvented hot water cylinder
✅ Mains-pressure hot water to the property
✅ Cold water storage tank removed from the system
✅ Existing shower pump removed
✅ Pipework alterations and upgrades
✅ Full commissioning and testing

The result is a much more modern system, providing stronger mains-pressure hot and cold water throughout the property and freeing up valuable cupboard space.

🔥 21 RADIATORS. ONE BIG SYSTEM FLUSH.

This was our largest system flush to date, carried out in West Linton — and it was the first time this heating system had ever been flushed.

The difference was clear.

🧲 MagnaClean used throughout the flush
💧 Filter cleaned 3 times due to the amount of sludge captured
🚿 System water running clear by the end of the flush
🌡️ Radiators checked before and after
🛡️ New MagnaClean filter fitted after the flush to help keep the system clean going forward

The thermal images show the difference too — much more even heat across the radiator after the system had been properly cleaned.

If your radiators are slow to heat, cold at the bottom, noisy, or your heating system is struggling to circulate properly, it could be worth having the system checked.

A clean heating system means better circulation, more consistent heat and less muck circulating around your boiler and radiators.

“My water pressure has suddenly dropped…” 💧

Today’s fault wasn’t the pipework – it was the Stuart Turner Monsoon pump.

The customer had noticed the water pressure getting weaker over time until the flow throughout the property became very poor. After testing the system, it was clear the pump had reached the end of its life.

A new Stuart Turner Monsoon Standard 2.5 bar twin pump was installed, restoring strong, reliable water pressure.

If you’re on a gravity-fed system and experiencing:

* Poor water pressure
* Pulsing water flow
* A noisy pump
* The pump constantly cutting in and out

…it could be a failing pump rather than a plumbing issue elsewhere.

🔥 Kitchen Transformation Complete – Modern Sink & Tap Upgrade 🔥

Another kitchen brought up to date with a complete sink and tap replacement.

The existing stainless steel sink and chrome mixer tap had seen better days and were showing signs of wear from years of daily use. The customer wanted a more modern, premium look that would complement the kitchen and improve practicality.

✅ Removed existing stainless steel sink and mixer tap
✅ Modified worktop aperture to accommodate new sink
✅ Installed Vellamo Horizon granite composite sink in champagne finish
✅ Installed brushed brass mono mixer tap
✅ Reconnected pipework and waste fittings
✅ Thoroughly tested for leaks and correct operation
✅ Left work area clean and tidy

The new granite composite sink not only looks fantastic but is also highly durable, resistant to scratches and heat, and much easier to keep looking good compared to a traditional stainless steel sink. The brushed brass tap finishes the look perfectly and ties in with the kitchen’s existing handles and décor.

A simple change that completely transforms the appearance of the kitchen without the expense of replacing worktops or units.

☀️ Back from holiday and back on the tools!
