🔧 Heating & hot water controls upgrade

When this system was originally installed (not by me, I must add! 😅) there were virtually no controls fitted, other than a hot water zone valve which wasn’t even wired in.

The boiler and hot water cylinder are located in a plant room away from the property, so historically the customer had to go to the boiler to turn the heating on and off, while the hot water was heated using the immersion.

Earlier this year, I installed an EPH CP4D so the customer could control the heating from inside the house.

Today I returned to finish the job properly and fitted:

🔹 EPH zone valve on the heating flow
🔹 EPH single-channel programmer for the hot water
🔹 ESI electronic dual cylinder thermostat
🔹 Salus wiring centre – I really like these because they give you plenty of room to work in! 👌

The system can now operate the hot water from the LPG boiler, rather than relying on the immersion heater.

As the property is on LPG, using the boiler should be more economical than heating the cylinder electrically, while also giving the customer much better control over both their heating and hot water.

Another system brought up to a much more practical and user-friendly standard. 👍
