🌿Get those water butts ready!🌿
The heat waves have moved on and made way cooler temperatures and rain.
For some, the rain is a welcome relief, after such a long dry spell. It is a reminder that Autumn is just around the corner.
With the Summers getting hotter and the Winters wetter. More importance is being put on Autumn planting.
“Planting then (Autumn) gives trees and perennials time to establish while soils are moist and rainfall is more reliable” - Leigh Hunt, Principal Horticultural Advisor at the RHS.
By shifting the onus on autumn planting rather than spring, we can support our plants and gardens to cope better with extreme weather.
