All Souls College, Oxford - 600 years old, now has a fully realised digital twin.

Our latest survey at All Souls College demonstrates how Ridge is using advanced laser scanning and SLAM technology with the NavVis VLX/MLX scanners to deliver fast, accurate, and non-intrusive point cloud data. This enables clients to visualise entire sites in 3D, supporting BIM modelling, and integration with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) surveys.

By capturing a detailed snapshot of building conditions, we help clients plan long-term maintenance, and forecast budgets with confidence. The result? Smarter asset management, reduced site disruption, and a future-ready estate strategy.

📢 Ridge welcomes Alex Dovey to lead Project Management in Wales

We’re pleased to announce the appointment of Alex Dovey as Partner in Project Management, based in our Cardiff office. Alex brings over 20 years of construction and consultancy experience, with a career rooted in South Wales and shaped by landmark projects across the UK.

At Ridge, Alex will establish and grow our Project Management offering in Wales, with a focus on education, healthcare, affordable housing and community-led delivery. He’s passionate about modern methods of construction, retrofit strategies and ensuring innovation is both impactful and financially viable.

Ed joins from Scott Brownrigg, adding architectural depth and a passion for zero-carbon design and walkable science communities. His portfolio includes the Cambridge Science Park Bio Innovation Centre and Arm HQ.

Shane and Richard bring 15 years of engineering leadership from H***e Lea, with expertise in mechanical and electrical systems and a consultancy-first mindset. Their work spans landmark projects like the Rosalind Franklin Institute and Oxford Science Park.

We’re proud to share that the Gradel Quadrangles project has been nominated for Project of the Year at this year’s Building Magazine Awards 🎉

Designed by Kohn Architects and delivered by project managers and surveyors at Ridge, this development for New College Oxford reimagines the traditional Oxford Quad for the 21st century. The project includes 99 student rooms, a striking 22-metre tower, and three new south-facing quadrangles, all brought together with thoughtful design and a deep respect for heritage. Sustainability was at the heart of this project; by adopting low carbon
materials, the team achieved over 190t of embodied carbon savings which is a powerful step toward more responsible construction in the education sector.

Huge congratulations to our talented teams and our partners at New College Oxford for bringing this project to life.

A huge congratulations to our Reading team whose dedication and hard work made this possible. The awards ceremony held at the Select car leasing stadium in Reading brought together leading property professionals for the 12th annual celebration of industry success.

The awards organisers Magazine posted on their page saying, ‘This award went to our worthy winner due to it consistently delivering excellence within the property and construction industry and demonstrating exceptional service, innovation and collaboration contributing to high quality sustainable and efficient project outcomes.’

Natalie is a well-regarded expert witness whose clients value her work and contribution to navigating their construction disputes. Natalie’s straightforward approach aims to untangle Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) disputes into well-structured and considered analysis.

She has provided advisory and expert advice in support of litigation, mediation, arbitration, and adjudication processes. She advises on matters relating to the design, installation, testing and commissioning and maintenance of MEP engineering services. Typical case work includes:

Reviewing alleged Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) defects
Considering whether work has been carried out in accordance with professional appointments, contracts, statutory regulations, standards, and reasonable, good-practice design
Providing technical input to other experts, including quantum and delay
Providing clients with preliminary advice on strengths and weaknesses
Providing impartial and independent expert opinion for courts and alternative dispute resolution procedures

Natalie’s experience includes district heating, ventilation, air conditioning, gas, water, drainage, controls, and fire protection systems as well as the coordination between M&E systems with the architectural and structural elements of buildings.
