Grade II Listed Cotswold Property Renovation

This Grade II listed Cotswold property underwent a comprehensive restoration and refurbishment, with a strong focus on preserving its historic character while creating a home tailored to the client’s lifestyle.

The project began with the careful restoration of the original roof purlins and supporting roof structure, ensuring the building’s structural integrity was maintained using traditional methods and materials where appropriate.

Internally, the floor layout was redesigned to create a more practical and functional living space, resulting in a home that better suited the client’s needs while respecting the property’s heritage.

A key element of the project was the installation of high quality bespoke joinery throughout the property. This included a custom designed walk in wardrobe, a handcrafted bespoke kitchen, and a range of fitted joinery, all manufactured and installed to the highest standard to complement the character of this exceptional period home.

A selection of first fix photos from our project in the Cotswolds, where the team has been busy carrying out structural repairs to the original beams and roof. 🔨

Alongside this, we’ve been using new carpentry methods on the extension while carefully maintaining the traditional barn style of the property.

As part of the refurbishment, we’ve restored existing casements and installed new ones where openings were created, keeping everything in line with the character of the building. 🪟

Keep an eye out for the next stage of the project where we’ll be installing bespoke joinery to bring this barn into a high-end, bespoke home. 🏡👀🛠️

A beautifully restored farmhouse that honours its heritage while meeting
modern living standards.

Once an old, derelict farmhouse, Lodge Farm has undergone a 12 month
renovation, with DGS awarded the full carpentry package. Throughout the
build, we maintained a respectful approach to traditional craftsmanship
while meeting modern building standards.

Where possible, original joists were retained to preserve the building’s
character, alongside the installation of a new hand cut roof and
structural repairs to the original rafters. Set in an incredible
location, the property now enjoys uninterrupted countryside views
overlooking the neighbouring golf course.

The project included new timber doors, bespoke casement windows,
engineered oak flooring throughout, and FD30 fire doors. Particular care
was taken to preserve and sympathetically upgrade the original
handcrafted staircase, working closely with the main contractor to Handcutroof
ensure full compliance with current regulations.
