For this project, our brief was to transform unused land into a purpose-built facility where a competitive polo-playing family could train, exercise and care for their ponies at home.

From the 70m x 35m arena and bespoke polo fencing to the American barn, Monarch stables and covered horsewalker, every element was carefully considered to balance performance, practicality and aesthetics.

With the layout, access, drainage and essential services all planned as part of the wider development, the result is a yard designed to work as seamlessly as it looks.

This is another example of how thoughtful planning and quality construction can transform a space.

One of the most popular features on our stand at London’s Global Champions Tour in the summer was our fencing, and it’s easy to see why.

For us, there’s nothing quite like seeing a project come together after all the meticulous planning and hard work in the process.

This project involved transforming a field into smart and practical turnout paddocks, with fencing, gateways and access routes all thoughtfully designed around how the space would be used.

We have worked on some incredible projects as a team, and the Jockey Club in Lambourn was definitely a memorable one for us all.

Although it came with it’s challenges, working alongside gallops and around 700 horses moving through the site each day. Careful planning and coordination were essential to keep the project moving while working within such a busy equestrian environment.

But with the challenges came an incredible reward: working in such a beautiful and iconic location at the heart of Lambourn’s racing country.

What a privilege it was!

Top event rider, Austin O’Connor talks us through the work that Tomley Projects have carried out at their yard, Alderbrook Stud in Oxfordshire.

With so many horses on site, the yard needs to be practical, efficient and able to keep everything moving without unnecessary complications.

For a competition yard operating at this level, good planning and well-designed infrastructure aren’t luxuries. They’re essential to keeping the whole operation running smoothly.

‘Can you do it cheaper?’- where we can help, we absolutely will, but there are certain things we won’t compromise on.

For us, getting the materials, construction, and finished surface right is essential. Using the best materials means creating projects that are built to perform, last and stand up to everyday use.

Spending a little more in the right place means better value in the long run - with less maintenance, fewer problems and a finish that lasts.

So yes, we’ll always look for ways to help you get the most from your budget. But sometimes, spending less can actually mean spending more…

In our latest Ebb & Flow arena, our co-founder Tom explains a little more about how we achieve the consistency, stability and rideability that make this surface such a great choice for both horse and rider.
