Research recently commissioned by NICEIC shows 22% of homeowners haven’t had their electrics checked in over a decade.

An electrical check, known as an EICR, is an essential MOT for the home; helping to spot issues early and keeping people safe.

In privately owned homes, it is recommended an EICR is carried out at least every 10 years, and in rented properties it is a legal requirement to have one at least every 5 years.

The guidance is simple, prioritise the safety of your home by getting your installations checked by a NICEIC-registered electrician.

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is urging the public to consider the electrical safety of their homes before purchasing and using emerging ‘plug-in’ solar products, as the Government moves to make these devices available in UK shops in the near future.

Yesterday I replaced a clients electric heaters. I popped back today to finish a few little bits. When I was leaving she said “I have knitted this scarf for you as a thank you”. I could not believe she had thought about me and sat and knitted it for me. I’ve said it before, but I do have some amazing clients, and realise I am very lucky.

It is with great sadness to announce my dad, Rod Sadler, passed away this morning. My dad was a huge influence on how I run my business and the standard of work I provide. He will be greatly missed by me and everyone that knew him.

No work today. This morning I have my annual NICEIC inspection. Each year the NICEIC assessors visit to check my work and technical capabilities. We will attend random jobs that will be inspected for compliance with BS7671. Thank you to those clients that have allowed me to attend at a random time this morning.
