We recently received a slightly unusual call from a gentleman living on a barge. Due to ongoing works on the canal, he was moored in and unable to get his waste disposal tank emptied.

Another example of why CCTV surveys are worth doing.

We were asked to attend a site following recurrent blockages that had been causing ongoing issues.

Rather than simply carrying out another clearance, we took a proactive approach and carried out a CCTV survey of the drainage lines.

The survey immediately identified the problem — rubble and debris within the lines were causing the repeated blockages.

We then jetted the lines clear and carried out a follow-up CCTV survey, confirming that the pipework was clear and flowing as it should.

The important takeaway:
It would have been easy to keep paying for reactive blockage clearances every time the issue returned. Instead, the decision to investigate the underlying cause with CCTV meant we could identify the problem straight away and resolve it with a relatively quick fix.

Sometimes, spending a little time investigating the cause can save a lot of time and money further down the line.
