Do You Know Your Refrigerant Inspection Guidelines? 📋

Staying compliant with refrigerant inspection requirements isn't just good practice, it's a legal obligation. Here's a quick breakdown of what's required based on your system's CO2 equivalent charge:

- 5 to 50 tonnes CO2e: annual inspection required
- 50 to 500 tonnes CO2e: inspection every six months
- Greater than 500 tonnes CO2e: quarterly inspection required

It's worth knowing that these intervals can be reduced by half if a permanent gas leak detection system is installed. In fact, for systems with a charge greater than 500 tonnes CO2e, a fixed refrigerant leak detection system is compulsory.

For common refrigerants like R410a and R134a, specific weight thresholds determine how often your system needs checking, so it's important to know exactly what you're working with.
