🐦 New homes for the neighbours 🌳

Our climbers headed up into the canopy this week to install three new bird boxes across one of our local boroughs 🧗

Natural nesting holes are hard to come by in our parks and green spaces, so these boxes give blue t**s and great t**s a safe place to raise their young 🪺

✅ High up and safe from predators
✅ Metal entry plates and felted roofs, built to last
✅ Installed outside nesting season, so no nests disturbed
✅ A cosy winter roost now, ready for spring
✅ Natural pest control: one brood of t**s can eat thousands of caterpillars 🐛
✅ Fitted by rope, so no machinery and no harm to the trees

Sustainable arboriculture means looking after everything that lives in the trees, not just the trees themselves 💚

Before ➡️ After 🌳 Swipe to see the difference

Crown lifting and clearance works on sycamores across a commercial site today, giving cars, vans and people the space they need underneath, without losing the trees 🌿

✂️ Canopies raised over parking and access routes
🚗 Safe clearance for vehicles and pedestrians
🌱 Base growth cleared and tidied
🌳 Healthy trees kept standing

Regular maintenance keeps your site safe, tidy and looking its best, and it’s always cheaper than dealing with problems later 💪

Tree survey recommendations ✅ Actioned 🌳

Swipe to see our team carrying out essential pruning at a commercial property this week 👉

The trees had grown over fencing, access routes and parking, so we raised and reduced the canopies to restore safe clearance, all while the site stayed open as normal.

✂️ Survey recommendations completed
🚗 Safe clearance over access and parking
🌿 Healthy trees retained, not removed
🧹 Site left clean and tidy

Busy weekend for the TREECO emergency team 🌳⚠️

With emergency tree failures across the North West, the call-outs kept coming in, day and night. Fallen trees across roads, collapsed vegetation blocking footpaths and bus stops, and our crews were out responding to every one.

At 2am in the pouring rain or on a Sunday afternoon, the guys were on site fast, made it safe and left it clear 💪

✅ Emergency teams on standby 24/7, 365 days a year
✅ Fast response across the North West
✅ Trained, equipped and ready to go

Ash dieback + a busy footpath = time to act 🌲⚠️

We’ve been in a local woodland this week, removing dangerous trees and ash affected by dieback along a well-used public path.

Ash dieback makes timber brittle and unpredictable, so we brought in our compact tracked digger with a timber grab to handle the heavy lifting 💪

🦺 Safer for our team and the public
🌿 Minimal ground disturbance
🚶 Footpath kept safe and open
🪵 Timber stacked neatly

More light on the woodland floor means healthy trees and new growth get room to thrive 🌳

Dead sycamore down safely ✅🌳

Swipe to see this one come down outside a busy public library in our local town 👉

Dead trees turn brittle and unpredictable, so climbing wasn’t an option. With people coming and going, a busy road and overhead cables close by, we brought in the MEWP to work from a stable platform and take it down in controlled sections.

🚧 Site cordoned off
🪚 Dismantled in sections from the MEWP
♻️ Everything chipped on site
🧹 Left clean, with the library open as normal

🌳⚠️ Keeping Motorways Moving, and Safe

Ash dieback doesn’t wait for a convenient time. Left untreated, infected trees become brittle and unpredictable, and next to a live motorway that’s a risk nobody can afford.

Today our team tackled a stretch of diseased ash alongside the carriageway, working under a full lane closure with a 25m spider MEWP. The spider lift let us:

✅ Reach high, compromised canopies without climbing unstable trees
✅ Set up on tight verges behind the barrier
✅ Dismantle each tree in controlled sections, away from traffic
✅ Get the lane reopened quickly and safely

The result is a safer roadside for every driver passing through. 🚗💨

🚧 Got highways work coming up?
From ash dieback removal and verge clearance to vegetation management alongside live roads, TREECO has the equipment, experience and traffic management know-how to get it done safely, efficiently and sustainably.
