⚡ EICR Remedial work ⚡

⚡ Today we carried out some remedial works on a property that is set to be rented out soon, this consisted of upgrading the consumer unit as the old one was damaged. We also upgraded the smoke alarms as the old ones went out of date in 2017 😱, a little fact for you. Most people just think you need to replace the battery in smoke alarms, not many people actually know that smoke alarms only have a 10 year life span. So if you can I would recommend checking the replacement date on your smoke alarms ⚡

⚡ Rewire number 8
The goo house ⚡

⚡ This has got to be the worst amount of green goo we have come across, this property was in desperate need of an upgrade on the electrical system. Thankfully we took care of it for the customer and it is now all safe, including smoke alarms a combined heat / Co alarm in the kitchen and a alarm controller that will flash fire or co in the event of an emergency. This gives the occupier a visual aid to why the alarm has been triggered⚡

⚡ Emergency call ⚡

⚡ Had an emergency call today, the owner could smell burning and when they went in the garage they could hear crackling. This is the importance of having a EICR done on your property, it is mandatory for rental properties but not for privately owned ones. ⚡

⚡ Consumer unit change ⚡

⚡ Well this job was supposed to be a simple consumer unit change, which turned into an absolute nightmare. Someone had wired sockets in 1.5mm cable and had connections hidden behind tiles 🤦. We rewired the sockets and gave it a clean bill of health ready for the new owner ⚡
