We removed the old rotten timber sleeper steps that had completely failed and replaced them with a proper solid structure built to last.

✔️ Full excavation carried out
✔️ Installed reinforced concrete base with steel mesh
✔️ Built solid blue brick risers, fully backfilled with concrete for maximum strength
✔️ Formed and prepared ready for new step finish.

The customer initially chose porcelain steps, but after laying them, decided they weren’t the right look – so we re-laid using Indian sandstone to match the existing patio 👌

Now the steps are:
✅ Structurally solid and reinforced
✅ No movement or future rot issues
✅ Finished to match existing patio perfectly
✅ Built properly from the ground up

This tired, failing wall was completely removed and rebuilt from the ground up to ensure long-term strength and stability.

What a difference this project has made! We were asked to turn a tired garden with old decking and overgrown lawn into a modern, low-maintenance space that’s built to last – and the results speak for themselves. 💪

🔥 From Collapsing to Classy – Gedling Garden Transformation! 🔥

This one was a proper challenge – but we love those 💪.

When our customer in Gedling got in touch, their old wall was cracked, leaning and ready to give way (swipe to see the “before” 😬). What they wanted was a safe, solid retaining wall with a smart porcelain patio that would look amazing for years to come to there own design and colour scheme. (Customer to add rockery and planting to the slopes ground)

The catch? 🚫
👉 Terrible access – no diggers, no dumpers, no machines.
👉 Every single bucket of muck, rubble, concrete, bricks and paving had to be carried by hand, in and out through the right access and many steps.

💡 Customer’s chosen design:
🧱 Eastwood Buff Bricks for a clean, timeless wall finish
🪜 Precast Bathstone Copings & Step Treads for a crisp, premium look
🟫 Bradstone Vala Sand Porcelain Paving for a sleek, modern patio with zero maintenance worries

🔒 The real strength is what you can’t see:
Behind that neat brickwork sits a 215mm hollow concrete block wall – each block filled with concrete and reinforced with steel rebar. That means this wall isn’t just for show – it’s an engineered retaining wall built to take serious pressure for decades.

We didn’t stop there…
✔️ Deep reinforced foundations with tied steel
✔️ Proper drainage: clean stone backfill, membrane, and weep vents to keep pressure off the wall
✔️ Hand-laid brickwork tied back to the blockwork
✔️ Porcelain patio laid with precise falls into a sleek linear drain, so rainwater runs off exactly where it should
