‼️🚨 Emergency call-out from our youngest customer this evening! 🚨‼️

With a gymnastics competition coming up this weekend, and the theme being “Glow in Motion”, Harper knew exactly what she needed…

“Dad! Can you make my number board light up please?!” 💡✨

👍 On it!

Although something tells me this particular customer will be ignoring the invoice! 😬😂

THAT WAS A BIT ELECTRIC… ⚡️😂

After last night’s storm, now might be a good time to check your Surge Protective Device (SPD).

🟢 Green? Happy days — it’s still doing its job.
🔴 Red? Your SPD may have taken the hit and needs replacing.

The whole point of an SPD is to sacrifice itself to help protect your electrical installation and appliances from damaging surges. So if it’s showing red after a storm, don’t ignore it!

Not sure if you have one or what yours is telling you? Drop us a message and we’ll point you in the right direction. ⚡️

⚡ Air Source Heat Pump Installation ✔️

Recently completed our first heat pump electrical install.

All wired to spec, neat and tidy throughout, and commissioned first time with no issues.

A good step into renewable work ⚡

⚡ Electrical Safety Tip ⚡

One of the most common things I see in homes is extension leads being used as a permanent solution for extra sockets.
While they’re fine for temporary use, overloading extension leads can be a serious fire risk 🔥.

Signs you may need additional sockets:
✅ Extension leads used daily
✅ Multiple adapters plugged into one socket
✅ Warm plugs or leads
✅ Trips or power cuts when using appliances

Installing additional sockets is often simpler and safer than people expect and can make a big difference to convenience and safety around the home.
If you're unsure about your electrics or want advice, feel free to get in touch.

An EICR completed today for a local landlady ✅

During the inspection, we found that 6 smoke detectors in the property were out of date. These have now been replaced with brand-new, compliant smoke alarms, giving the tenants peace of mind and protection for the next 10 years.

💡 A quick reminder: smoke alarms typically have a lifespan of around 10 years, so it’s really important to check the dates and replace them when needed.

If you’re unsure about the safety of your electrical installation or smoke alarms, please don’t hesitate to get in touch — we’re always happy to help. 🔥🧯🚒

First day back after the Christmas break and found this little gem inside a fuseboard 🐭.

At this time of year rodents often seek warmth, and fuseboards can unfortunately become a target.

It’s a good reminder to keep homes as rodent-proof as possible to help avoid potential electrical faults.

Karl, and Bratton Electrical are proud to be celebrating 7 years in business today!

Karl decided to take that giant leap of faith 7 years ago and start a brand new business while I was pregnant with Harper, about to go on maternity leave!

Late nights in the office, working weekends, and all the little things customers don’t see.

Me and the children are so proud of everything he does, and are excited to see where the next 7 years take us 🫶🏻

Thank you so much for your support over the past 7 years, we really to appreciate it!

He’s not one to brag about success so we’re doing it for him! 😂🫶🏻

Well done Mr B (Dad)

Love Laura, Ollie and Harper ###
