This contemporary new build in Chilwell featured a more unique frontage with a bold strip of custom glazing forming a unique glazed atrium. Originally a bungalow, we designed a first floor extension across the whole house, to create a spacious family home.

With the restoration, extension and alterations well underway at the Willoughby Almshouses in Cossall, you can now see how the modern extensions complement the historic fabric of the building sited in the heart of Cossall.
We were approached to help bring this valuable building back in to use due to our experience in dealing with heritage projects and listed buildings. After a restoration appraisal and financial review of the building built in 1685 it was decided the best way to fund the restoration was to combine the 8 undersized single resident dwellings into 4 family homes. Family homes would also be well suited for the location in the attractive and highly desirable village of Cossall. The proposed works consist of minimal changes to the original building but would also include the removal of the 1920s/1930s works and addition of new extensions, which would house more generous modern spaces to complement the smaller rooms within the original footprint.

This new build house in Mansfield focused on indoor/outdoor living, with a large kitchen diner to provide the client's ideal hosting space. The project also included some wow features, like the glazed lantern over the atrium to provide a light and airy space at the heart of the home.

With the summer holidays kicking off for the local universities, Kings Court student accommodation will soon be accepting its next cohort of eager scholars. This block of 7 flats was laid out to allow the roof line to stepping down towards the neighbours, to fit in with the surrounding homes and businesses. These images are the 3D renders we produced prior to the work starting on site.

With the heat we've been experiencing this week we like to look back on a project like this one, where we were engaged to thoughtfully extend a small care home. The extension included 11 new rooms as well as a sensory garden designed in close collaboration with the staff members. The garden includes raised borders and multiple pathways, to help restless residents find peace and calm while enjoying the scented flowers, a space which would be well appreciated in weather like this.
