Patio Transformation Underway 🔨

Chimney Breast Removal & Wall Renovation

A recent project involving the removal of an existing chimney breast, followed by plastering and finishing the newly opened-up wall.

New electrical sockets were installed, with the skirting board and coving carefully trimmed and finished to suit the new layout.

A clean finish and a much more open feel to the room, ready for the next stage of the renovation.

🔨 Full Garden Refresh 🔨
This one needed a proper bit of attention from start to finish 👌

The slabs had started to move where the ground had shifted, leaving them uneven with big gaps in between — so I lifted and relaid them all to get everything level again ✅

Next up were the upright sleepers, which had completely rotted out. Those were replaced and all the surrounding areas were re-slated to tie everything together nicely.

The recreation area needed a tidy too — there was even a tree growing where it shouldn’t have been 🌳😅 so that came out, followed by a full de-weed and new stone to smarten it up.

To finish things off, I replaced the slats on the seat and painted every bit of exterior woodwork — even the fountain 🎨 — to match the customer’s windows and doors. Now the whole area looks clean, fresh, and properly finished 💪

💪 Finishing It Off Properly 💪
This one was all about sorting the snags and rapids left behind and getting everything finished to the standard it should’ve been done in the first place 👌

The customer wanted their porcelain patio extended into the summer house and wrapped round the sides, plus a new fence put up to stop the dogs getting behind the shed 🐾

Once that was done, I had to take out all the old grout and redo it properly — the previous job had started to fail, and it just didn’t look finished. Now it’s clean, neat, and solid 💥

While I was there, I also found the waste hadn’t been sealed and the lead flashing from the new extension was coming away from the wall, causing leaks 💧 — both sorted and sealed correctly this time.

Finally, I resined down all the loose stone around the walkways to keep everything firm underfoot while still allowing for proper drainage ✅

From half-finished to properly done — another one wrapped up the right way 🙌

A nice little job getting this front gate sorted for the customer 👌

They were tired of constantly repainting it every year, so this time we went for a proper solution — creosote. It’s oil-based, so it soaks deep into the timber and gives much longer-lasting protection against the weather 🌧️☀️

The only downside to using creosote is that it shows up any filler left behind by the previous tradesman who put the gate together — but overall, it’s a small trade-off for something that’s going to last a lot longer and look good for years to come 💪

Another one ticked off ✅ — this bungalow has gone from old and tired to fresh and solid!

In the last video, you’ll remember how bad the pointing was — the mortar was so sandy it could literally be washed out with a jet wash 💦😬. It offered no strength or protection, leaving the brickwork looking rough and worn over time.

Now it’s been fully repointed and brought back to life — clean lines, fresh finish, and ready to stand the test of time 💪

Forgot to grab some before photos on this one 😅 but it’s pretty clear what’s been done!
Cut out a new doorway in the side of the house for a single door, and took out sections of brickwork round the back to make space for a set of French doors.
The customer fitted the doors themselves once the openings were ready 👌
Nice bit of work that’s really opened up the space and added some great access points to the house.

Called in to sort out a bit of a tricky one this week 👀
Some previous work hadn’t been done quite right, so I carried out a tidy repair to get it looking presentable again.
Not a full redo, but a solid fix to cover up and improve what was there — much neater and ready to last a while longer 👌
Customer just wanted a cheap, quick, easy fix and that’s what was delivered ✅

A project I’m really proud of 🔥
Built this custom multi-use fire pit from the ground up — designed to be practical and look the part.
It works as a fire pit for cosy evenings, a BBQ for those summer cookups, and once the handmade wooden lid is fitted, it’ll double up as a table too 👌
A great addition to any garden space — solid, versatile, and built to last.
