Genuine email 👀 (excuse the typing error) it’s a QUOTE not an INVOICE

I’m all for customers getting a few quotations — that’s just business.

But when you’re charging £270, giving up a full day and supplying all the materials, and someone still thinks that’s taking the mick… 🤦‍♂️

Sometimes I genuinely wonder what people expect tradespeople to work for. 😂

£270 isn’t £270 in your pocket.

To put it in context it’s a ceiling that requires prep , 2 coats of paint and I’m supplying the materials. Doesn’t matter if it takes 5 hours or 8 hours it’s still a full day!

Can anyone help this young lady get her foot in the door? 👇

I’ve had a message from Keira, who is 18 in October and is currently working towards her Level 2 Painting & Decorating qualification.

She’s already got a fair bit of experience from her Level 1 and is now looking for an apprenticeship with a decorator or decorating company in the Stockport area, ideally before she starts Level 2 at college.

She’s keen to learn, get out on site and build a career in the trade — and I know from experience that getting that first opportunity can be one of the hardest parts.

I’m based in Nottingham, so unfortunately I can’t take her on myself, but I told her I’d put this out to my page and see if anyone in the Stockport/Greater Manchester area can help.

If you’re a decorator, company or contractor in the area who might be looking for an apprentice, or you know someone who is, please get in touch with her.

Even if you can’t offer her a position, a share could potentially put this in front of the right person.

Let’s see if we can help Keira get her start in the trade. 👊🎨
