We are a fully insured tree surgery company providing all aspects of arboricultural works mainly in Nottinghamshire but as far as Queensland, from pruning and planting to dismantle and removal.

Steady couple of days removing this mighty Cypress now nesting season 🪺 is finished.
The tree had significant internal rot at about 2.5m from from a horrible historic topping it had had, so was a safety risk as well as the size and debris problem for each neighbours properties it overhung 🌲

Pleasant Friday stump grinding with ‘Big Harris’ 7x Lombardy Poplar’s, 2x old Yew and a few small bits to finish a small removal we did the other week.
Ready for a bit of new soil and replanting 🌳 in the autumn 🍂 when we have some rain ☔️ then mulch back on top as long term plant food, soil protector and w**d control (keep your mulch)!
Back to the workshop now for teeth change, full grease and machine check so he is ready for next time.
Plus the normal monthly chain ⛓️‍💥sharpening and saw maintenance as I finished a bit early 👨‍🔧

Amazing to see firsthand (or both hand) phytochemistry & how a mini drought can alter an everyday tree’s bio chemical composition.
I had read that during extreme droughts birds will strip and severely injure trees so they alter their chemicals to temporarily poison the animals to survive but also create pheromones to alert nearby trees… but not in West Bridgford!

A new one for us in this country, with the drought tree and plant sap becomes more concentrated and can give some unpleasant effects, like chemical burns.

This sore, red and blistering skin for a few days is after a Fig tree removal earlier this week.

I can tell you that phytophotodermetitis is not fun at all.
Thankfully we have the superb Musters medical practice & anti histamine, some steroid cream & antibiotics for any infection & no direct sun for a couple of days.
