A blustery afternoon 💨 but a nice 3-4m height reduction and crown clean to a mature Robinia pseudoacacia 🌳 after the wind turned a branch earlier this year.
Nesting check completed as always prior to and during works 🪺
Chipped on site under the trees as soil improver & drought protection ☀️

One of our commercial clients fell foul of a neighbouring commercial entity & we were all starkly reminded that mock pollarding or ‘bollarding’ any mature tree then leaving it for years to grow a new crown results in branch and in this case stem failure and property damage.
Lucky it was a Sunday else it would have been people and cars that were crushed 🚑

This Willow collapsed with the help of high winds last month due to too big a reduction many years before, so the wounds were too big for the cambium to seal, but being a Willow and having huge potential growth energy it doubled again in size from the now rotting cut point and this attracted a fungal infection 🍄‍🟫 and the combination resulted in this.
Highlighting the need for arborists to be educated in trees and their care.

However a delighted customer with our prompt and fairly priced services yet again.

This large tri stem Cypress part failed last month during high winds.
The tree had a ‘triple co dominant’ crown break as a physiological weakness, so after clearing the dangerous third away, our client asked if retention was possible.
We discussed and advised a staged removal over two years as a balance for aesthetics and safety but hopeful that the large Macrocarpa and rather sparse Atlas Cedar on the right might begin to sense more light value and begin to fill out.
A fair project for a valued client in Radcliffe on Trent balancing budget and request with the important safety factor.
