We were proud to recently support Nova Education Trust as part of a professional learning session focused on belonging and creating environments where everyone feels valued and included.

Jarrad had the opportunity to share practical knowledge, experience and insight with colleagues across the Trust, contributing to wider discussions around strengthening positive and inclusive school communities.

It was fantastic to receive such positive feedback following the session, and we’re incredibly proud of the longstanding relationship between Make and Nova Education Trust.

⌛ Make Consulting are pleased to have successfully delivered the internal alteration and refurbishment project to create an enlarged apartment, and office refurbishment for a private sector Client.

Working to a tight eight-week project programme, works were successfully completed on schedule.

Make Consulting provided Contract Administration and Principal Designer services under the CDM Regulations 2015, with the works procured under a JCT Minor Works Building Contract with Contractor’s Design 2024.

During the works, notifiable asbestos-containing material was identified, presenting an unexpected challenge for the project team. Working closely with the Principal Contractor and relevant specialists, this was safely and effectively managed with minimal disruption on the overall programme.

A great collaborative effort from everyone involved, delivering a safe, compliant and high-quality refurbishment to a demanding programme.

Today marks two months since we welcomed Ria to the Make Consulting team! 🎉

Ria joined us as an Apprentice Administrator and is developing her skills, gaining valuable experience and working towards qualifications as she begins her career with Make. Supporting the next generation of talent is something we are passionate about, and we look forward to seeing Ria continue to grow and progress as part of the team. She has already settled in seamlessly, and we’re delighted to have her on board.

Great to see work getting underway last week at Conway Gardens in Retford for Bassetlaw District Council!

The project will see 36 apartments transformed into modern, welcoming homes for residents, with the refurbishment including new kitchens, bathrooms and communal areas, alongside energy efficiency improvements such as solar panels and external wall insulation.

Make is proud to be supporting the project, providing Quantity Surveying, Contract Administration and Principal Designer services, and we’re looking forward to seeing the transformation take shape over the coming months.

A fantastic milestone for Walton Hospital as Phase 2 of the Community Diagnostic Centre was officially opened last week.

It was great to see the completed facility celebrated, marking the culmination of another significant development at Walton Hospital and one that will help deliver more diagnostic services closer to home for patients across North Derbyshire.

Our own Brad Hart and Martin Hodge were there to represent Make — and even made an appearance on BBC East Midlands Today! 📺

We’re proud to have played a big part in the Walton Hospital journey, and it’s fantastic to see the finished facility now ready to make a difference for patients.

Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this project to completion.

It’s fantastic to see the impact that Urgent Capital Support (UCS) funding can have on school estates.

Farmor’s School was previously featured by the BBC following a successful UCS funding award, with Make Consulting supporting the school through the funding process and delivery of the resulting works.

Our work with Farmor’s has continued and, more recently, we have successfully supported the school in securing further UCS funding for a separate structural project, alongside CIF funding for improvements to its heating distribution system.

For schools facing significant and urgent estate issues, accessing the right funding can be critical. Our role is to help schools understand the condition and risk within their estate, develop the evidence required to support a funding application and, where successful, take the project through to delivery.

We’re delighted to continue supporting Farmor’s School and its ongoing investment in a safe and resilient estate.

🙌 Great progress is being made on one of our healthcare projects for Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, where Make is providing Contract Administration and Quantity Surveying services.

The ground floor hospital extension will create additional staff ancillary areas, alongside external works, drainage improvements and a car park extension.

Drainage, foundations, substructure works and much of the brick and blockwork are now complete, with roof trusses being installed and gable construction progressing.

The car park works are also complete and will soon be handed back for use.

The Make team swapped the office for the St Leger Festival at Doncaster Racecourse on Friday afternoon.

A brilliant afternoon of racing, sunshine, good company and a few drinks along the way! 🥂

🏗️ From demolition to a modern new facility.

Make Consulting was appointed to support the complete transformation of the Glossop Fire Station site, beginning with the demolition of the existing station and training tower.

The project includes the design and construction of a new fire station, smoke house, garages, external works and associated services, creating a purpose-built facility for today’s fire and rescue operations.

Designed with improved energy efficiency and carbon performance in mind, the new station will provide a modern, sustainable and operationally effective environment for the teams who serve the local community.
